Fun fact: this is the lightest chassis to receive a 4A-GE. Lighter than the MR2, AE86, and subsequent AE92 as well. They are super fun and were absolutely on par with the GTI of the day.

You should see the turnover in service if you think sales is bad. Service writers are a revolving door with 2-3 long-term people and 5 or so new people every few months.
The driver was looking ahead as far as he could to see the wreck the yellow flags were warning him of, as he should have been.
People bicker and argue over R33/34 legality citing Motorex cars and stuff, but bottom line is - if you want to be sure your car is legal and won’t get hauled away by the Feds, wait until it turns 25. It’s really not that complicated.
Just thought I’d share my FX16 GTS since everyone seems to be bringing them up.
I was changing the valve oil seals on my friend’s 1987 Toyota Supra due to some light smoke on startup. His car was very low miles and had not developed the well-known head gasket problems the 7M engines were known for, and we had already re-torqued the head to prevent future issues.
This whole line of “performance cars” is just a huge slap in the face. If they really cared about the enthusiast market, the GRMN Yaris would be sold here and with more than a few hundred examples produced.
Virginia gets a lot more flack than it deserves from people who don’t actually live here. Just don’t speed and you’re pretty much fine. HOWEVER we are currently the only state in the USA where radar detectors are illegal. Also, front plate laws suck.
Correct. The last Sunchaser was in 1981 on the 2nd generation Celica. OP is just a 84-85 Celica Convertible.
You’re talking pure straight line numbers. Literally the only thing at which the Elise isn’t the best car ever. Solstace/Sky were a really cool platform and I personally think it’s tragic it never got to stick around and get refined. But sorry, the Elise is miles ahead of those two in everything other than drag racing.
I agree the looks leave much to be desired. But you really must drive one.
I don’t really notice much difference in rigidity. The front wall of the frunk ties the chassis together decently. I really just bought it to mount light to.
Fight me.

So it’s basically like a miniature Matrix XRS - hatchback with the same motor as it’s contemporary Elise.
For everybody complaining about cut springs and rear drums, here’s my Cressida wagon that has proper suspension and a rebuilt LSD/rear disc axle swap.
I’d put Honda 4's over Toyota 6's. And Toyota 4's over Honda’s.
I’m never ever selling mine. It’s remains the most fun car I’ve ever driven.
It’s no harder than doing a timing belt on a FWD transverse engine. Only thing is on the turbo cars you might want to remove the side mount intercooler to give you more access. Otherwise you can do it in car just fine.
The lift point varies a lot between year/model. My 05 Matrix XRS engages at like 6500 or 6800, where an ECU from an 03 Matrix is considered an upgrade due to 6200 rpm engagement.
