@Two Yellows Equal Red: The pitch looks fine. The parking lot in Columbus, which has never been paved in the 10+ years the stadium's been there, will be an apocalyptic morass. I expect some cars to be stuck there till April.

I can't believe it's almost 4 years since the last US-Mexico qualifier in Columbus. One of my favorite live sporting events ever. Pisses me off that the spot in the North end we all occupied is now a stage.

@MrRedDevil: Not necessarily Mexicans but Mexican-Americans, born and raised here, who still support El Tri.

4-5-1 vs 4-5-1 in a gale? I might as well start drinking now.

@MrRedDevil: Aye, aye, aye, somebody stole my sombrero...

Just Manny tweaking Manny.

@CaliCheeseSucks: The image that comes up on their website is laugh out loud hilarious - or maybe its the drink and the late hour.

@Skating Tomato: I certainly won't apologize for someone like Moses, but you're dealing with the dominance of some totally different attitudes towards planning and architecture and urban form pre-about 1960 (and extending up till now, certainly) - and those insidious attitudes were shared by a lot more people than

@Peter Cavan: And it looks like a pamphlet next to his volumes of work on LBJ.

@Skating Tomato: The greatest of great ironies: Robert Moses never learned to drive.

@VanceHammersly: Well, he was very good, certainly but it really was lightning in a bottle for that whole team - the glorification really came about because the US was getting pummeled by the Far East year after year, and then suddenly we won. I knew/know everyone on that team and they were no golden generation of

@Jehovahs Witness Protection Program: Have you ever read The Power Broker? I began it, and it was as interesting as advertised, but ran into other things to do and I just don't have time to read yet another titanic book right now.

@VanceHammersly: How so? I played against Chris - at least at that age he had control. There were a lot harder throwers with Mitch Williams-like control, and they were terrifying ones.

@Green Weenie: I'm glad I could help. I'm loving it too. I'm a big fan anyway, and it's going great with a nice drink and DUAN and this game.

@VanceHammersly: The truly disturbing thing is that Trumbull's at the comparatively "normal" end of the county, socioeconomically. I knew of some people who built New Canaan houses in Trumbull. Stupid fucks. If you're aching to have a $4 million house, go where they belong.
