I’m fairly certain the underpinnings of a GT500 car are borderline prototype racer and beyond the bodywork, those cars share almost nothing with the road cars upon which they’re supposedly based.

What display is this on?
This way they know you, and ONLY you can use your ticket. You can’t give yours to someone else.
Not a huge fan of the wrist bands, either. After 3-4 days, they’re in pretty sorry shape...
They’re quite a bit different, actually. The Caddys are considerably quieter than they were in the Corvette DPs last year (probably just down to exhaust routing), but from what I’ve heard so far, the GT cars are several octaves louder than the new prototypes are.
Find someone that has a cord that is willing to let you use their login and download the Fox Sports Go app.
They definitely have the most stacked lineup, but with every prototype being brand new, it’s impossible to say who’s going to have the reliable run. That will be key. Who knows, it could even be another year where we see a GTLM car win, like we did in the early 2000s in the first year of the DPs.
Nice! Bring warm clothes. No matter how warm you think it’ll be (compared to whatever winter wasteland you’re from), you will freeze your ass off at night. I made this mistake my first time at Daytona, coming down from Detroit. 55 at night will be warm compared to the 5 degrees it is at home, right? Nope. Cold as…
8 Lamborghinis, to be exact - they’re the most populous GT car in the race, actually.
So find a new friend. Or take your dad. Always good bonding time at the race track.
I think he’s more thinking that GT3 cars need to be allowed to run in the 24 Hours in addition to GTE/GTLM cars. It’s something that will almost certainly NEVER happen, though, as the ACO will never give Stephane Ratel the satisfaction of seeing that happen.
I was thinking the same thing... Not a very well written sentence.
A 6.2L Small Block V8 is still a “big engine” compared to the rest of the field, which features either a 4.2L V8 (Gibson), 3.6L TTV6 (Nissan), or 2.0L Turbo I4 (Mazda).
I think Japanese design in general has just taken a right turn off on some crazy tangent of weird angles and ugly curves. I suppose it isn’t something new, but now it’s making its way down to standard models like Camrys.
During the reveal, on the right side, there was a chat going on. Someone asked if the Bronco would be a rebadged Everest and then a rep from Ford replied no. Take that for what you will, there is definitely some grey area, but it sounds like the Bronco will be a totally unique vehicle.
I think that’s kind of what the GT-R is supposed to be. I don’t know that Mercedes is doing “Black Series” models anymore.
During the Ford press conference, someone from Ford specifically said it will NOT be a rebadged Everest.
I’d guess the Lambo will probably be ~100hp up on the Ford GT, but I’d also guess that the GT might possibly be more than 1000 lbs lighter. Will be an interesting comparison, especially as they’re going to be priced right in line with each other.
No.
