Probably because they’re cars with similarly high horsepower supercharged engines. Chevy is probably using them to benchmark cooling systems and make their blow LT work better in the process.

Katech WAS the supplier of Corvette Racing engines when they ran in GT1/GTS with the 7.0L. They’ve since taken the engine building in-house since moving to the GT2/GTE/GTLM class. Katech isn’t involved at all anymore.
The GMC is a chase/support vehicle. No need for it to be camoed. And the cars were likely all gassing up before going on whatever drive they had planned. The video was taken by someone else who was at the gas station and found it interesting.
Or he values his employment and isn’t stupid enough to take photos of a mule when he works there.
I’m a bit unclear on how these will be produced. The press info says: “Five different vehicles painted in 70 liveries dedicated to the most famous Ferrari drivers in history.”
I totally agree. It DOES look absolutely insane, but it also doesn’t look like a car that an actual human adult should want to own... People complained that the Focus RS looked too plain for what it is. This is the polar opposite end of the spectrum, and it’s not a good look.
Anyone know what the tub is from? Some LMP2/LMP3 car, I suppose?
That’s an extremely common thing on race cars with center-lug wheels.
Calling Preston Henn a “Racing Legend” is the understatement of the century...
Your comment may be based in sarcasm, but I think it’s EXTREMELY far-fetched to call a Taurus SHO a “Super Sports Sedan”... A CTS-V, M5, RS6, etc. is a Super Sedan. A current generation Taurus SHO is a Taurus with a powerful engine - nothing more.
That is a TERRIBLE solution to adding a cup holder. It’s complex, it has moving parts, it’s small, it can’t double as a place to store your phone or other items when not being used for drinks, and the fact that it is hanging off of the dash means it’s only a matter of time until it gets broken off.
Not for a few years. Part of buying one is that you legally cannot sell it for some period if time. After that 2-3 year span, I’d bet they flood the market.
Plenty of guys on the Ford GT Forum are just normal guys, that have 05-06 models and got chosen.
You are not legally allowed to sell the car for a specific period of time, so none will make it to Barrett Jackson for awhile.
As much as I should be excited about this, it looks like the BBC is just going to take all of the videos Chris already put together over the past year or so and package them for TV. I’d imagine we won’t be seeing anything new for some time. That said, it’s still fun Chris Harris hoonage on TV, so I can’t really…
With almost 2 liters of extra displacement and a giant supercharger...
COTD right here!
“The Camaro’s story has no ending!”
There will definitely NOT be a Gulf Ford GT for the new version.
