The performance improvements of this version are not really meant to be measured in 0-60 times and top speed, but moreso in lap times. Same way the GT350R isn’t fantastically crazy in a straight line (compared to the GT500 that came before it, or even a normal GT). Let’s wait til we see how it performs on track.

Looks MUCH nicer. Almost Tesla-esque.

Ben Keating does the same with his Viper program. Actually many of these racers own car dealerships. The owner of Scuderia Corsa owns a Ferrari dealership. The owner of Gainsco owns a bunch. Penske owns a whole planet full, etc.

BOP for IMSA and the WEC are handled separately. IMSA and the WEC both do their own BOP. The fact that Corvette hasn’t run any WEC races in GTE pro this year prior to Le Mans, means the ACO is kind of just guessing when they announce the initial BOP ahead of test day.

Wouldn’t be legal...

Every car racing in GTE uses an engine that makes significantly less power than their road going counterparts....

Guard is definitely very green, but also has a lot of grey in it. It’s still very green, just not the same as DHG.

No. Not even close.

You’ll be waiting forever. But there’s a chance you might be able to buy THIS color for 2018.

This is probably the best piece of advice Doug has given, yet, although we’re all on the same page at the most surprising part of this piece: Doug has a girlfriend... Zinger.

Nope. Casualties of Dieselgate... Same for the fact that their are only two Audis.

I am! Arriving Friday, will be at the circuit from first thing Saturday until whenever my fiancee is done working on Sunday. We should have a Jalop Le Mans meet up.

Nope. Still not eligible to race at Le Mans.

One poster mentioned the incline. It might also have to do with the location of the sun at the time the photo is taken. You’d rather have it behind you, than in front of you.

Does anyone know if it can be streamed online anywhere in the States (beyond using torrents after the fact)?

As far as “meanness” goes, what you see in these photos doesn’t look dramatically different from the last several years of RSRs and even now the GT3-R. It’ll be what we can’t yet see in the photos that will set it apart.

Everything I’ve read has said it’ll continue with an iteration of the 4.0L Metzger that the current RSR has, but with GTE/GTLM now adopting turbocharged cars for the first time, I could see them going that route, too. I hope it stays NA, though.

It IS mid-engined. Why do you think they only showed views from the front end?

The latest generation of RSRs are currently only being run by Core Autosport/Porsche Motorsports North America in IMSA and the lone Dempsey/Proton entry in the WEC-Pro. There are a number of 2015-spec cars running in the ELMS and WEC GTE-Am, though.

There’s a very specific reason for why you are not seeing the rear end in any of these photos: this new RSR is MID ENGINGED!
