@TheStygimoloch: A custom built PC will probably be even more servicable than any Mac Pro. Since all components have individual warranty and the assembly itself has a warranty.

@HeroOfTomorrow-the Untied States: Half the price was obviously an ironic approximation not to be taken literally.
@Tetsuooooooo: Then enlighten me - if I build a PC with the same (probably better) components than that of the Mac Pro, what is the difference that makes the Mac Pro a workstation and the custom PC not a workstation?
@HeroOfTomorrow-the Untied States: Why 1500 bucks? The cheapest Mac Pro is $2499 in the US. And the 8-core Xeon with 6GB RAM is $3299. And at that price? Sure, just give me a second and I'll present equal components at a lower price. It is ALWAYS cheaper to build by yourself, not even Apple can avoid that rule.
Probably Apples most useless product. All their other products, the Macbook Pros, iMacs, etc, have something somewhat unique to offer (Unibody aluminium, a whole computer within an IPS-monitor and so on). One can argue about the pricing, but at least they're offering something.
@cruzer555: Not sure. But it was banned about as quickly as Sony got sued. Which is.. Fairly quickly.
That suggestion system reminds me an awful lot of the evil Microsoft paperclip.
Oh... My... God... That's... AWESOME!
@zwer: Actually it is more likely that you will end up in the future, given that the slinging will accelerate you into relativistic velocities. The future would be cool to visit, but it may just be so that you end up the dumbest person alive.
However, it will be hard to make it real. Here in Sweden, all ISPs are subject to the IPRED directive. Meaning that they are forced to hand out any IP information they have on their customers if a copyright crime is suspected.
Yes, all phones loose some reception if e g cupping your hand around it.
Even for Windows, an anti-virus software is not necessary as long as you know what you are doing. Contrary to popular belief, opening google.com does not immediately download 200 viruses just because you have Windows. However if you press a "YOU'RE THE WINNER"-popup... Then you freaking deserve a virus, as you should…
Also, vuvuzela sounds will make you a murderer.
Because of the iPhone 4, I can't stop laughing at the video on their website regarding the iPad.
@Piledriver: Very true. Luckily we finally had some rain and thunder here (halfway drowned me on the way home from work), so the air is much more comfortable now.
@gebinsk: Afraid not (that cemetary is mostly for the snobbs of this city, those guys who afford building fancy-ass crypts). However the salary is enough to sponsor my new laptop + SSD. Quite nice what you can extract from the Swedish Church yet being an atheist ;D
@Piledriver: Oh the temperature is not the bad part per se. In the summer those are quite nice temperatures. However - lawnmowing, a few hours with no drink breaks, and no shade to be seen, that tears down the soul rather than the body.
I mowed the grass on an entire cemetary in 34 degrees C today, thinking "what could possibly make this more of a torture?"
@im2fools: The difference is that 3D has failed before, and for a reason, while optical media has not (although it is being more and more phased out with the exception of blu-ray players, but blu-ray may very well be the last big optical medium). As long as one needs glasses to watch it, it's doomed to flop. Again.
