Cool yes, radical, not so much

And also frequently seen at strip club valet lots
Oh yes...
No need to, I dig it. They did this to the previous gen Firebird too. I have a model kit of it.
As the author said, CVTs are tools of the devil, period. Horrible horrible. That being said, I still like Subarus, even if they look boring.
I can vouch for this.
I agree, it looks much better seeing it in comparison to other cars.
Did that traffic cop smack the Alfa on the ass?
I don't mind them as much with the Carbon fiber trim, but I'd still rather see 8C style units
Me too. Why not just bring that over?
Seems pretty good value to me when you factor in standard equipment and size. As far as ugly, hey beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Wouldn't call it pretty, but it is funky and at least it stands out from the throngs of lookalike CUVs
It would have been interesting to see that in an alternate dimension. Well, by 'non-European' I'm assuming you are politely referring to Americans, embarassingly many who mostly assume if your name is Carlos you must be Mexican and that everybody drives on the left in Europe, which is one country.
This isn't a government run company. Just because the government can't pay its bills doesn't mean a private company can't be profitable.
Agreed, but those kind of contracts shouldn't be deemed legal anyway.
It's only strange by notoriously conservative American standards, especially in the 60s. There were a ton of successful rear engined European cars (many also air cooled) besides the 356 and 911 into the 70s.
Not bad at all, I like it. Looks very purposeful in a prototype sort of way.
Germany has also been bankrupt before, jus sayin'
I love Corvairs, or rather any car with truly unique character. That engine bay is sexy sex.
Unfortunately some stereotypes are hard to shed by the masses, who prefer easy to digest sound bites, the more dramatic the better, regardless of the actual facts.
