Always thought those seats were pure porn
Always thought those seats were pure porn
This was my thought the minute it hit the market. Not as great a car as Audi sold it to be since it was essentially a Golf GTi in sexier clothes, but from a design standpoint, truly iconic. Like a 911, original Saab 900, or a Citroen DS, the profile in silhouette is instantly recognizable and looks like nothing else.
Firstly, you never mentioned you were in Italy, and secondly, Callaway worked on everything including VW GTi motors in his early days. He stuck with GM small blocks because they're cheap, mechanically simple, therefore easy to work on, and easy to get parts for since he's in the States. Also easier to get more power…
I would do awful awful things for that slice of sex.
Even the rust is authentic American rust!
I wanna start the American counterpoint by founding a club where members take old Volvos, DAFs and Saabs and equip them w rally accessories and giant Swedish flags hanging out the back, and cruise up and down the boulevard cranking Abba and Roxette.
Subaru Brat and XT coupe, both with WRX STi AWD running gear
Because modern cars benefit from decades of accrued knowledge and tech development, which means everyone is using more or less the same concepts, which makes for better cars, just not very interesting ones. A well done resto mod combines the character and individuality of a classic design with better modern tech.
So Reeves Callaway, a noted and famous engine tuner responsible for some very fast production based cars can't blow up an Alfa V6 after 24 hours on the dyno where Chevy mall blocks died after 4, but in your delusional world, a GM small block is still more durable? I sincerely doubt you have ever worked on any Alfa,…
I'm with you. I don't want or need every car on the market to appeal to me. I want weird, and even downright ugly. I'd rather drive a characterful ugly car than a bland, characterless, transportation appliance
You must ingest a lot of caffeine to stay awake while you drive no?
I would buy and drive. Plus, the dash is from Star Wars. Also, 6 seater, three across, loads of space.
The original xB was the original BB. The Current xB is a completely different model.
No matter how much you may dislike them, they help dilute the sea of bland beige that is rapidly engulfing our automotive landscape. The very nature of weird means that not everyone will like it, some will downright hate it. But when you try to pleas everybody you get beige Camrys.
YES!
I love Gremlins. I love AMCs in general. There, I said it. Sue me...
and love...
Let the masses eat beige. I want my weird cars!
There's something very weird yet alluring about that pic. I think it' s the upholstery.
I guess I must have been taking mine to the right mechanic or doing something right then. Mine was a daily driver for several years after college. In seven years broke down only once because of something I forgot to tighten. Still have it, drive it weekly. Did a few drives from Boston to Detroit with no problems.
