The DS is one of my dream cars, and some day I will own one

Agreed. many of Ferrari's cars lately are fussy, overstyled and awkward.

Drove a coupe 6 Speed for a week and was smitten. Never though I'd lust after a Caddy

Nothing remotely douchey about an early C2 stock Vette convertibel

Weel done sir.

You Sir, are a man of taste

You said it: 60's and 70's. Guess what? It's 2013!. Other automotive stereotypes that aren't true anymore: 'American cars can't compete with global brands, American cars don't handle. Cadillacs are floaty land barges for old folks. Kias and Huyndais are crappy cars. The Earth is flat.'

No need you say, then why do it?

Really? You're comparing a low quality Eastern Bloc copy of an expired Fiat design to a 100 plus year old technical innovator and maker of some of the most memorable cars in existence ? Stick to working and talking about farm tractors.

Not at all, just don't buy a cheap one because it usually means it was owned by someone that didn't maintain it properly. I had similar reservations when I bought my GTV6 years ago, but after fixing all of the previous owner's mistakes found it to be more reliable than my 3 series.

Precisely, and thank you. However the plus side is that those in the know can get amazing driver's cars with tons of character for cheap in the used car market, although Bertone bodied GTVs are no longer cheap (especially really nice ones) and even GTV-6s are going up too. Get them before the rest of the world wakes

If you maintain them properly and drive them, Alfas are quite reliable. I ran a GTV-6 and later a 164 S as daily drivers for many many years, and the only times they didn't work it was due to something stupid I did or was supposed to do but didn't. The engines are unburstable, especially the V6s. Only those who allow

Still the best steering on ANY car I've driven since, regardless of price. Kind of tinny and awkward looking (unless you drop it and stuff the wheel wells, but a grossly under rated car.

They sound like sexy sex too, which is why I've never been able to sell my two V6 Alfas, despite many determined attempts.

As a die-hard Alfanatic with a much more modest collection of two, I salute this man. One of the few who truly understand the magic of Alfa sickness

Party pooper

God yes...just like the one in my 164 S

The Corrrado VR6 is one the best drives I've ever had, period. It's a superbly balanced car and the silky smooth and torquey VR6 is a true gem. Can't speak about reliability since I never got a chance to own one.

Probably electronically limited but still, I'd hesitate to call it a supercar.
