I normally would side SNES just because my favorite RPG of all time is FF^ but honestly thinking about it I would say the Playstation 1. Gameplay wise, yes. But they had to redo all those graphics, it was done by different artists and for fans of a certain subset of developers. Also there were jokes cut from EGA to VGA for legal reasons. Yes it is mostly the same but that is like saying the latest remaster is the same as prior versions.

So glad this is finally happening, all the broken gamecube controller crap was getting nauseating and this should have never been banned in the first place.
