I'm guessing he's alive because a brain is required to have brain injury.

Thanks, Oprah, for inflicting Dr. Phil on our national culture.

This was a very good write-up, Madeleine. I never got into their story or the "camp" value of the documentary. I think their story is interesting, but didn't find it entertaining or romantic. They were both mentally ill, and had the good luck of being born into a rich family that provided them with "eccentric glamour"

I absolutely don't believe in monogamy.

"Most" means you have taken some survey, which you haven't. "Many" is fine, but "most" comes across as judgmental.

I, on the other hand, I'm all for monogamy, I don't believe open relationships can work because of jealousy, insecurities which are fair common human emotions. But this article has really made me reconsider if they can work, as long as both people know what's going on, be honest with each other and realistic. This

Looks like Karl Lagerfeld. And that is not a good look.

I'm surprised that I'm surprised by this look. The turtleneck is a ... choice.

I want Gloria Steinem to be my cool aunt. We'll get wasted at wine bars and bitch about The Man.

Holla on the Kiehl's dark spot. I am super fair, so any post blemish red spot lasts forever, but that stuff really helped. Shisedo's White Lucent collection is good for that too.

I suppose it's different because this is marketed towards children who will get twisted ideas about what a woman's body should look like.

Just... how though? How can they make such good decisions, and such TERRIBLE ones at the same time?

What would Harper Lee have to do to convince you she wants her novel published?

I knew it. See, ladies! You don't have to be photoshopped to have a disproportionately sized waist! You can just wear a corset at all times and only eat soup. Sounds grand.

I know right? Couldn't be that she has a lawyer and literary agent she prefers to deal with and fuck everybody else. No, no, no, it's a conspiracy! They're exploiting her! Must go tell the Twitter-verse I saw this injustice first...

Seems like she has a discreet, tight-lipped lawyer who is that way because she has a discreet, tight-lipped client. Stop concern-trolling and leave her alone, is my feeling.

Her international literary agent, quite apart from her legal representative, said he'd recently seen her, that she's 'feisty,' and confirmed the

It makes me wonder if she flat out needs the money. Compromise: Since a prequel/sequel to Mockingbird will sell with or without an author press tour, why not release the book, let us give her all of our money AND leave her alone?

Her seeming eagerness to get the sequel published makes me wonder if her famously protective sister was actually stopping her from doing what she wanted.

She's old and wants her privacy. Fucking back off and let her have it. I highly doubt someone as stubborn as her could be easily 'exploited' or coerced into doing anything she didn't want to do.

And now Sheets re-mails the response, asking Lee to have a picture taken of her holding it with today's newspaper.
