I don’t know, I kind of agree with her. The rule in my house was that you always called people by Mr. or Mrs. ____ until they told you otherwise. I still think of it as a sign of respect and generally call people Mr. or Ms. until I’m advised to call them something else. Particularly when I work with clients.
