My parents just bought a new Passat TDI, and they love it. It's a terrific car for older folks who want great mileage and some bells & whistles, but aren't car enthusiasts. Also, it's quite peppy in Sport Mode. But they made their decision based on loads of research (and endless conversations with me), not because

VW has been doing some great ones lately. Especially the Darth Vader one from last year!

I don't know either of these guys from Adam, but it's hard to blame the head of U.S. sales for the 7% decrease this year. They've got no product. Sure, they've got product coming, but it's not hear yet. How do you sell old cars when everyone's got new cars without sinking profits?

Just this week we saw Honda recalling Odyssey's over a misplaced badge. Perhaps not wanting to be outdone by the Japanese automaker, Ford recalled 23,800 cars one a door chime.

"...calm Mater"?

Ladies & Gents; I give you the first ever example of someone dying from too much pot!

So what's going on? Are people just buying the cheaper Corvette? Are people scared of the Viper because of its reputation as a batshit nut-crusher? The original goal was to limit production to 2,000 a year, but as of now they've only sold 426 in the United States and dealers are sitting on 565 unsold models.

Saw the same thing happen to my GF's bikini top at the beach. "Peekaboo"

"And I thought the Beagle made it a dead giveaway!"

I've never been a fan of the "modern" Mini, but the 208hp JCW Coupe is quite an improvement. At over $31K, I'll still try to talk my Dad out of getting one, but I'll take the wheel if he lets me.

Brilliant. Simply comic genius.

Yeah; multiple major fixes can happen on any mass-produced vehicle. Just have to keep your fingers crossed & hope you get lucky. I do know that VW's diesel engines tend to last forever. I recommended the Mazda6 as well, but it wasn't conservative (read "grown-up") enough for her. How do you like yours?

My parents were in the market for a new midsize sedan last month. They were stuck on the Fusion, but I recommended they look at the Passat. Dad: "really, you think I should get a VW?" Me: "There's a turbo diesel version." Dad: "Ooooh, ok." Three days later, they bought one, and are thrilled with it!

As you might recall, Nobody puts baby in a corner. Plus Nobody is who you tell your parents you were hanging out with until three AM. That's right, Nobody is your best bud, because Nobody knows the trouble you've seen. And now, nobody beats Clyde’s meat. I’m telling you, that nobody is one busy mo-fo.

We had a red PacerX in the '70s w/ the "Go Pack" (I think it was a 304cu v8); I thought it was cool as shit. I'm still a big fan of these, AMXs and Gremlins; would proudly own any of them.

I'm not a fan of this car at all, but there are hundreds of guys in my area that would pay WAY more than $6k for this car. I wouldn't piss on it if it were on fire, but for a certain segment of car culture (namely here in Da Dirty Souf), this is NP.

Change you can be leavin?

Actually, it's "xorosho", Russian for "good" or "well". There's a lot of Russian words that were Anglicized in that movie.

Not sure which rear I like better!
