And to you the same.
And to you the same.
Again, I'm not challenging your skills as a writer as I've never read any of your fiction and don't know you from Adam. My challenge is a challenge to the assumptions you've posted in these comments.
My suggestion isn't a challenge to your writing abilities, and if you saw it as patronizing that's really on you. I didn't mock you, and I didn't insult you, I was challenging what I believe is an oversimplification of the matter. My challenge stands because I fundamentally disagree. The largest differences between…
As a side note:
Ah crap now I'm swayed again, I think that's a more appropriate view. But wait, Batman does abide by a moral code, and it could be argued that he serves his country (Gotham), though he has fought against the king (Hill, and yeah I just looked that up because I couldn't remember) and served others (other mayors).
Okay you sold me, but only because I don't want him trying to bite my legs off.
Holy Medieval Spawn, Batman! That's awesome.
But Batman is all about mobility and acrobatics. Don't you remember that scene with him and Vicki Vale? If his grappling hook can't carry them both how's it going to work with all that bulky, heavy armor?
Well that's culture you're talking about, not the girl in question. That character obviously is going to be shaped by their culture for sure, but again we're talking specifics. Even as a man you would need help writing a 14 year old boy for similar reasons.
Yeah and I'd argue it's a fallacy to believe that women as a group all think in the same way. So those objections would be without merit.
My main point is you don't have to be something to write about it.
I'd like to believe that at least some small part of that was because of persons like myself who canceled their PayPal account and cited this as the reason. But that's mostly because I'm wanting to pat myself on the back, and idealism, sure that too.
Agreed, the person in question would have to give consent. Given Fred Astaire didn't his family has a legitimate complaint. But if a person entered into this willingly it doesn't matter what their decedents think.
They may not all be unacceptable, in that they are evil or bad, but they are all questionable. Everyone of those excuses can be challenged.
Okay but not all men think the same way either. Seriously if you don't struggle at all writing a character then you're probably writing the same character over and over again. Look writing is hard, it really is, it takes a lot of research, experimentation, practice and dedication to be a good writer. But gender of all…
You'd have a point if this was just about a small handful of developers, in which case it wouldn't be an issue. This is a problem that plagues an entire god damn industry.
Pro tip, you write female characters the same way you do men. The only time a person's sex is actually relevant is in very specific situations and most of those wouldn't fundamentally change the character.
That's okay I'm just going to watch it when it's released in NA, besides other people may stumble upon it.
It hates them too, especially when they're also gamers.
