There’s not a damn doubt in my mind Sherman jumped offsides with an eye to damage the kicker’s knees.

Yeah, watch the play again, it wasn’t whistled dead (though it should have been) so he continued and blocked the kick. . .

The play was NOT obviously dead. The idiot refs never blew the whistle to stop the play so he blocked the kick . . .

Yeah, that’s the biggest problem on that play. They should have blown it dead like when a defensive player gets unabated to the QB. They don’t blow the whistle until after the hit and kick.

According to the rules, what he did shouldn’t be called roughing because a) he touched the ball and b) Carpenter’s motion carried him into Sherman.

Sorry, can’t tell nuance on anonymous message boards. I wasn’t sure if you were agreeing with me or unsure why it mattered if there were zero accepted . . .

But if he gets 10 called and none are accepted because offsetting penalties (ie his own team does something stupid) or his team declines the penalty because before he got hit in the helmet or knee, he threw a pass for a 1st down, then yes, it’s disingenuous to say that he didn’t get any calls. . .

Don’t forget about the fact that they kind of tried to cover up a murder involving one basketball player killing another not too long ago. This doesn’t seem to be an issue that came about simply because they were playing good football (considering their basketball team sucked ass). . .

You’ve also got to remember, Newton is as big or bigger than many of the players trying to tackle him, so they have to bring some extra mustard if they want to bring him down (a point which he makes repeatedly clear when he’s a runner and plows over defenders).

Yup, that would be the one. . .

And then the write a check! I’m not trying to age discriminate, but as someone who does nearly all of the grocery shopping for a family of 4 giants (and therefore usually has a full cart) I almost NEVER get in line behind old people, just because of the possibility of a check (unless of course all other lines are

Well, I think the idea is that the while the number of accepted penalties is 0, the number of CALLED penalties is higher (oother commenters have said 4-6 since 2014).

Well, don’t forget about how he was excited to get drafted by Buffalo because they were in NY and he had no idea that NY was a state and not a NYC team. . .

I think we’ve found Tracy Porter:

I would also include a ‘PI Foul Out’ rule. Commit x number of PI infractions and your ejected.

This is stupid. It does not give them the incentive to commit this on every pass longer than 15 yards. For one thing, it comes with an auto first down, so 3rd and 18, you’re not just doing DPI to give them a first down. It would only give them an incentive to do this when they’ve been beaten deep, which honestly

More important than just limiting it to scoring plays is making it ‘potential’ scoring plays. So if the disputed catch is called a TD, then it will be reviewed, but if it’s called incomplete, it’s NOT reviewed. That makes zero fucking sense. . .

Keep in mind on the Sherman 4th down play at the end of the game that Julio Jones should have also been called for an illegal hands to the face personal foul for basically punching Sherman in the facemask to get off the line of scrimmage.

I believe he applied for one and was denied because the zoning board said he didn’t need one, so it made no point to grant him an exception permit when he’s already allowed to do what he’s doing in his garage...

That’s the joke about the internet: 20 years ago it was supposed to usher in a revolution of free and pen knowledge, but the sheer mass of content makes consuming it like drinking from a firehose.
