I think far too many people are holding on to Luke as the ‘main character’ at this point. If we remember that he’s a supporting character at this point, it makes more sense.

Agreed. I don’t understand ANY of the hate against this scene. It’s been 40 years. OF COURSE Luke taught Leia how to use her powers. But just like in the old EU materials, Leia’s heart was always in helping run the government. She clearly learned how to use some of her abilities, but she would rather be in the bunker,…
I can totally identify. Don’t have kids yet, and so I likely have more free time than what you describe here. But I can absolutely identify with the feeling that I’ve been left out as games have ‘evolved’ over time. Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE playing Destiny. But lately, I’m lucky if I get to touch it for even 2-3…
Nice. Looking forward to how the Snowball stuff works. Mayhem was a blast in D1, so that’s absolutely welcome again! On the other hand...I likely won’t have enough time to play to collect anything significant. We’ll see.
I could not be more happy that we picked up a console at launch, and then a second one over the summer with Spaltoon launched. I’ve probably put in more hours of playtime in these 9 months than the entire lifetime of my Xbox One. And life has been crazy the last 2 months, and I haven’t hardly got to play (still…
Having owned a Switch since Launch day, and a second one that we bought in July, we have NEVER found ourselves needing an additional charging resource. We did buy one extra set of Joy Con right at the beginning (knew we would want 4 controllers for Mario Kart), and so on the very rare occasion that we run out of…
100% agree. There’s a place for both kinds of games. If a linear game tells a compelling story over 10-15 hours of gameplay, I couldn’t care less about replayability or side-quests, or such. It’s when stuff gets down into the sub-10 hour range that I start to balk at the cost.
This is what I want to know as well! What about 2 players local couch co-op, plus 2 more from the online lobbies, for 4 total? My wife doesn’t always like these games, but she’s a die-hard Harry Potter fan, and she enjoyed one of the Wii games from those series. So I’m wondering if she’ll dig this.
OK...potentially unpopular opinion here...
I found this review really insightful, if a little surprising. Perhaps there are simply too many people on r/nintendoswitch that are just in love with this game, but this is the first substantial negative review I’ve seen. So I’m quite surprised.
I never got to play these games on the other platforms, so I’m looking forward to picking these ones up.
“Make” me buy? Nothing. But the wife and I had been talking about getting Apple Watches for weeks now, and finally bit the bullet, taking advantage of the Kohl’s cash we could get with them (amounted to $90 back per watch). And we shop there all the time for Christmas gifts anyways. So for us, it ends up being a…
My issue was never necessarily with the amount of grinding required to unlock certain characters, or with the progression being tied to loot boxes. Heck, if people have tons of disposable income and want to throw it at a game, even that doesn’t bother me. But I have limited income, and limited time to play games. I…
Heh, I played Destiny enough to beat everything once, and then got bored. Still spend more time playing Splatoon, but then again, my wife plays as well, so it’s simply more fun to both play a game together.
I figure it will give a timer/countdown to when the match starts. If you don’t choose different weapons fast enough, it will just dump you into the game with what you’ve got.
I actually think that the motion aiming in Handheld mode is actually easier than in docked/tabletop. It feels more like an augmented reality mode on a smart phone at that point. A lot of it has to do with your sensitivity settings though, so definitely try playing with those a bunch til you find something that works.
Sort of...When you’re using the motion controls, you can’t use the right-stick to look up or down. You can only do that with the motion controls. But you can use a combination of the stick and the motion controls for your side-to-side aiming. I’ve found that this is the best for me, as large movements, turns, etc. I…
Didn’t read the full article, as I hope to play the Singleplayer campaign myself at some point. Just came to say ‘Thank You’ for highlighting that you feel the singleplayer is indeed worth it. I plan to pick up the game down the road when I can get it for cheap, used, and enjoy the story. I, too, have no interest in…
The microtransactions were only ever about 5% of the problem for me. I have a healthy history of playing lots of Free-2-Play games, and enjoying them, without succumbing to the lore of the power-up via paying.
That’s where I’m at. Granted, I was never a 1000+ hour guy for D1, and just due to general life, I often don’t have 3-4 hour blocks to play where I can attempt the Raid. I’ve played parts of Leviathan, but haven’t finished the whole thing, and I’m almost at a point where I’m not even really sure if I care. What do I…
