I figured out the puzzle the “correct” way, but my wife happened to be watching me while I did it, and she had an “OH MY GOD!” moment when I moved the chest to make a connection. She proceeded to tell me about using a metal weapon, and then I had the “OH MY GOD!” moment. Ha!

Nintendo NEVER said they were planning to consolidate their console and portable markets, so I don’t know where you’re getting that from. At best, that line of thinking was based on speculation around the fan community, that Nintendo *might* make that kind of move. I think if you talked to most experts though, they

My guess is that we won’t see a true switch-over (heh) from the Wii U displays to Switch displays until the 2017 holiday season. Most people have continued to feel like this March was a soft-launch, with a ramp up to a big holiday season.

If Nintendo made enough product for the Scalpers to stop altogether, then they are going to end up with product sitting on a shelf, not getting sold. Companies are not successful when the Supply is larger than the Demand. That’s simple economics. So, because the intention is to be a successful business, and to do that

Obviously, I haven’t played this yet, but I’ve been watching it for a while to see how it turns out. I’m starting to wonder....are some of us just too old to enjoy games like this anymore? This looks SO much like the DKC or Spyro type games we enjoyed in our childhood. And yes, I remember being frustrated by those

I only just got to the Lost Woods/Korok Forest for the first time a couple nights ago (yes, I’m an older gamer with too many life responsibilities...sigh). But I was really shocked and disappointed with how much issue the system seemed to have keeping up with the graphics in that area. Never really noticed anything

Go to your inventory screen, and highlight the Divine Abilities. You can switch them off altogether. ;)

The new boomerang design is actually one of my favorite things! I love that you have to catch it. And you can use it as a melee weapon too in a pinch.

Incorrect. Don’t want to say more due to spoilers, but the Master Sword does not break. The game includes what I consider a very clever way of allowing you to use the Master Sword quite liberally without completing negating the need for multiple weapons.

Nearly every enemy carries a weapon that you can steal after you kill it. You also have bombs and arrows to help with killing said enemies (FYI, bombs are AWESOME for early game in preserving your weapons).

LOL this actually sounds a lot like my wife and I. Now, don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t classify my wife as a “non-gamer” necessarily. She’ll play the crap out of Mario Kart, Halo, or the older Zelda titles, and it’s not unusualy before BOTW for her to spend 2-3 hours a week playing video games. But she’d never touch

I had some similar thoughts while playing Zelda BOTW this week. Fighting one of the Guardian bosses, I had an immensely difficult time getting my timing perfect. Probably died 10+ times. I thought to myself. Geez. I don’t think 10 year old me could have ever beat this. I’m enjoying the crap out of BOTW, but a small

I named my first one Silver (a la Lone Ranger), but then when I caught my second one (a blue horse) my wife jokingly said I should name it ‘Blue’ and stick with the colors. I agreed, but because it’s the same name as the Raptor from Jurassic World. :P

Yeah, I know, it’s easier said than done. Especially when you have the situation my wife ran into while playing the other day, where it rained for like 1.5 days straight. We started to wonder if she was in another area like Zora’s Domain, where it was supposed to rain constantly. But there was clearly a shrine that

It’s all about what you allow yourself to feel. If you choose to make the best out of the situation, and see what the game may be trying to encourage you to do differently, rather than just get frustrated and walk away for a few minutes, you may find things and enjoy things you wouldn’t have otherwise.

All these replies saying that the rain is a PROBLEM that must be fixed...

If you go around to the side of the mountain where the Hinox was sleeping (opposite of the ocean-facing side of that mountain), it’s very easy to climb to the Bokoblin camp even in the rain. Then there’s not too much more of a climb from there. Look for small areas where you might be able to pause for a moment to

Thinking through all the possible solutions I’ve come up with or seen others post, I’ve yet to determine an actual logical reason for doing it any other way than what Nintendo did.

It’s the combination of things. The developers are the first to tell you that they looked at things like Skyrim for inspiration. So there’s no denying that.

LOL I’m having the exact same issue. I’ve played plenty of Nintendo games, but on the Wii, where there wasn’t a traditional ABXY layout anyways. After a week, I’m finally breaking the Xbox habits though, and feeling more consistent with Zelda.
