But the concept of the Wii, particularly the motion controls, was a completely foreign idea at that time. Nintendo HAD to include something to demonstrate the functionality of the system. That’s not so much the case any more.
They haven’t said “no” yet. Easily possible that a software update would allow it work with wireless controllers, or a USB adapter would let you plug it directly into the dock.
Better processor, better controllers, better portability....lots of better things. Frankly, a $20 pack-in like Wii Sports isn’t a big deal. I’m not planning to buy 1-2-Switch right away, so I’m glad the price of the console isn’t artificially inflated just in include a pack-in game. Let me buy Zelda and Bomberman like…
Well that’s easy. It doesn’t have a disc drive, or a cartridge slot that will fit the physical copies of games from any older systems.
The Joy Cons only charge when attached to the Switch itself, or when attached to one of the Charging peripherals they’ve already announced: the Charging Grip or the Charging Dock. Doesn’t seem like there is any way to attach a cable to the Joy Con at all.
I think there’s a pretty good chance they will provide cloud save functionality down the road.
Most of this doesn’t bother me....except the bit about the touch screen. I’m on board with you there. I mean, they have a perfect set up here to be able to port Wii U games, and have them fully functional the way the Wii U used the touch screen and the TV at the same time. So, basically, ANY Wii U game that required…
You clearly don’t understand how the Switch works. You might want to research things a little before you dismiss things so readily.
I feel the same way about Blizzard though. I loved the Starcraft and Warcraft series. But for me, MMOs and FPS are not exactly my cup of tea. So Blizzard’s focus on Overwatch and World of Warcraft the last several years leaves me saying “meh” most of the time they make announcements lately. Not every company can…
I pre-ordered mine in person at a GameStop store. They had a flyer that sounds similar to what you’re saying. But these flyers had the individual price for each item. It kind of looked like a ‘bundle’ from the pictures on the flyer, but it seemed pretty clear to me that it was more like a suggestion of what stuff to…
Have the same TV and just got an Xbox One S. So I feel your pain. I was also routing my stuff through a Receiver, which I was careful to be sure was capable of passing through 4K and HDR content. But I ended up having to re-do my entire cable set up, because the HDR content would ONLY work through one specific channel…
This is ridiculous. You sound like a petulant child. The purpose of journalists is not to report every single rumor. Do you report on the toppings ordered on pizza that’s delivered to the white house? Because I’m certain that IS HAPPENING on a frequent basis there.
A journalists purpose is to expose the truth. Any one…
Without too much of a spoiler, how does it relate to the over-arching story of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus? Hard to tell from any of the details so far. Is it a ‘spiritual’ successor like Shadow was supposed to be, or does it tie in more closely?
The touchscreen issue is easily dealt with, I think.
Can’t work that way. The video shows the guy on the plane using the controls independently from the main unit. Most likely scenario is that the controllers have their own internal, non-replaceable battery packs. When connected to the tablet, they will still run off their own power, so as to not drain the tablet power…
I agree with this reasoning for the lack of a touch screen. I also think this is why it will likely not work with the Wii-style motion controls any more either, which disappoints me. Motion control was one of the innovative things that continued to set them apart from the other consoles. In the home environment, the…
Options for portable power banks or a 12V car adapter for on the go charging. Make it like any other phone/tablet device, and they’ll be golden.
Discovered one while travelling this week: Using the new Maps updates, is generally really awesome. Especially the ability to look up Food places that are en route ahead of you. However, it insists on offering ‘Breakfast’ until 11:59 am. When you already ate Breakfast at 7am, and kind of want to look for lunch around…
If they remove the tedious nature of things altogether, then you have a game that is too easy, and everyone immediately gets to the highest light level. Then Light becomes irrelevant. It’s a delicate balance, and I certainly don’t envy those at Bungie who have to make the decisions on how to deal with this stuff.
That’s…
