Yup—milk was de rigueur in my house growing up. I drank tons of milk, less as I got older. Lately I switched from 1% to whole milk and started drinking it again—love it! WAY better than water. :) And I get it all to myself, since my husband and stepson think milk is gross. Sigh.
Self magazine really changed their tone a couple years ago, with a self-conscious "cool speak" approach that sounded like a middle-aged mom trying to impress her tween's friends. I let my subscription lapse after several years because of the cringe factor—and also, they clearly weren't talking to me anymore. :)…
I love my microwave for softening butter for baking, and for defrosting frozen meat. Plus, it's the best way to reheat pasta without drying it out! I hate toaster ovens because they do NOT make toast, they just dry bread out. If you have an actual oven, no toaster oven is required!
Dude, I got one (as a joke) for $5 at Bed Bath and Beyond and it is amazing! Plus: I use it to keep melted chocolate warm when I'm dipping Christmas cookies. :)
