Yes Federal law does protect it, but states do have laws that affect the right to collective bargain. For example many states have "right to work" laws which weaken unions and unionization.

Yes, an increased demand for paying utility bills, paying for medical care, and paying for groceries.
They aren't exempt. I believe the idea is that Corps/Franchise owners will respond "better" to demands for a one time wage increase than they would to on-going collective bargaining. That and state laws have made it harder and harder to actually unionize.
I'll admit that I'm no economist. That said I think your equation is not accurate. Shrinking income inequality does not mean an increase in costs or inflation. If wages were more equalized throughout a corporation i.e. The CEO/CFO/VPs etc. receiving a slightly lower wage in order to increase the wages at the…
Premium employees make significantly more than $15.00 an hour. Since when is $15.00 a premium wage? Especially when you actually look at what $15.00 hourly wage will buy.
I keep hearing people say "Well, I don't even make $15! Why should fry cooks ask for it when I don't even get it for my job?"
You should. Its ridiculous that you don't.
Why on earth does the Tolkien family loathe the Jackson adaptions? I never heard this gossip. The films are about perfect.
This is an conversation we keep having at my house. Yes, it is a short book and they are having to bulk it out. But the fact is I love the universe so much that I don't mind spending 9 additional hours in it even if not every minute of that 9 hours isn't paced the best.
Love her.
How did that tiny creature make so many big boys?!?
If only Don was blowing his party horn while Roger Sterling was blowing oyster chunks. That would be the funniest Mad Men of all time.
I read this article and was proud of the women taking action, but I was shocked that any of them were willing to live in a world where their sexuality could so endanger them - Not from Moore, but from the people they knew in real life. The more dangerous aspect was the posting of addresses and phone numbers next to…

Sorry, the combination of Jon Stewart's rant and the years of lackluster pizza has made me rude. I have heard from other SF residents that Delfina's is very good pizza. I meant to say it is the exception not the rule.
I would guess you have never lived outside of California if you think there is any good pizza here - even in SF.
*lifts hand*
Interesting side note: "As of November 5, Texans must show a photo ID with their up-to-date legal name. It sounds like such a small thing, but according to the Brennan Center for Justice, only 66% of voting age women have ready access to a photo document that will attest to proof of citizenship. This is largely…
I agree that the make-up is not to my taste, but the transformations are pretty intense.
Don't show those boys their beloved porn star perfection before and after slide show. The transformations are pretty incredible. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/03/por…
