Okay, so lack of access to prenatal care means less health care for both mothers and babies. Which means that preventable health issues are not prevented and non-preventable issues are not managed to make them, you know, less deadly.

There’s a mall nearby me that has large family rooms, with changing stations, couches, sinks, washrooms, plus women-only areas for nursing if the woman desires that. As a man, I am able to go into the main family room to change my son.

Nursing rooms are great but only if it’s understood that they are an option. A nursing woman should not have to hide away if she does not want to. I am so thrilled that breastfeeding is enshrined in the Canadian constitution. No one can tell a nursing mother to cover up, remove herself, go to the bathroom or anything…

This is a great law and makes me happy. But - Why does it have to be named breastfeeding rooms? How about calling them what they are - family rooms for child care. I don’t like what breastfeeding implies: for women only, for nursing mothers only.
