"while watching their favorite programs" - There, I fixed it for the US audience. Mwaha.

Wow. Made my day. You'd be hearted if I could.

ca.gizmodo.com has been broken for me lately. Everytime I go on it shows me posts that are over a week old. Not sure why that's happening. I would use the US gizmodo with the blog style reader, but it keeps popping up with bad scripts!

Also....dude...canned air is a miracle. Clean that keyboard!

They're typically glossy to hide the poor contrast of the screen. Adding a glossy layer can allow you to simulate better blacks as Samung does with some of their high end LED TV sets. It makes the picture look great in abosultely no light whatsoever, but like garbage in a lot of light.

@Dmoralize: That's exactly what I was thinking. Does this have any effect on black out local games? I need my Red Sox, but hate my Comcast!

@brijazz: Such great fusion of comedy and science.

@AJ: That's a negative Ghost Rider, the pattern is full.

So that's not really an accurate portrayal of where the revenue came from for the movie studios. What you describe was how BB made their cash. The movie studios however, would basically take a massive chunk of the straight rental revenue in the first few weeks. That percentage would diminish over the course of several

Not at all implying the author wasn't good. It's just a subject that merits conversation and they're usually too busy to jump in.

Thanks Roklimber. This article isn't half as good a read as your replies.

THX as a standard means many things based on the gear. Basically it's a set of standards, not physical components. There are no actual THX parts or processors. It won't actually improve your viewing/listening experience on it's own. What it basically says is that the device has passed the THX standard for audio/video

OK so [gizmodo.com] allows some respite, though I now need to try it out at work. I actually like the classic view version of the redesign a lot better.

I have been, but it frequently takes me to links to the new io9, Lifehacker, and US Gizmodo. Also, I'm pretty sure the redesign will trickle up to Canada and GB at some point.

@Srynerson: I could not disagree with that statement more than I already do.

I hate to add my voice to the already loud site redesign complaints, but I have to. I'm not saying change it back, I just want it to work again. I have very restricted access at work and the computers are a step below absolute crap. I switched to Giz from Engadget about a year ago because the Engadget site redesign

I must have missed this the first time around. She sort of has a look like the lady from Mars Attacks!

@Yinzers Are People Too: Yeah but Cooke is kinda the poster boy for dirty play in the NHL and the Pens do seem to back him up when he concusses someone and potentially ends a career on a cheap hit. If they're going to support his shennanigans they really have no right to whine about it happening to them.

@paradox: God yes! The only reason I still have cable is the local cable sports network having exclusive rights to Bruins games. I really hope they push for the more useful local broadcasts.

For a track team that's actually a great training track. Using hills like this helps tons to increase your overall speed by casuing muscles you don't typically use to fire differently. When you take this team to a flat track for a meet, I would imagine they beat wholesale ass.
