Same here. I want my 6 year old (as of Sunday) and 2 year old to grow up to be grounded, well-balanced adults. Consumerism does not deliver happiness. While poverty brings unhappiness, that doesn’t mean the opposite of poverty brings the most happiness.

I very much doubt his life will be “grand”. It’s amazing how people still believe that excess wealth at a young age correlates to happiness, despite all the examples to the contrary. We don’t allow Ryan’s show in our house. The vulgar consumerism is not something we aspire to.

The only one on this list I have any respect for (I don’t know all of them) is Blippi. His shows aren’t encouraging shallow consumerism, and often have an small educational content.

I find their videos quite objectionable. The grotesque consumerism/materialism is not the example I want for my kids.

By what mechanism? What evidence will you present to support this claim? Because claims made without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.
