And 73% of the men who successfully kill themselves are white males.
And 73% of the men who successfully kill themselves are white males.
And that is my fault why? Oh, it isn't.
I don't know. I honestly really don't. I can tell you that as a white male who owns firearms, when I was considering killing myself, I wasn't considering using a firearm to do so. I was typically counting pills.
Suicide is a very serious issue in our society, and the fact that women attempt it at a 3x higher rate than men is pretty scary. The truth is, there's no real way of identifying concretely how many attempts are legitimate a cry for help and how many of them are a legitimate attempt to take their life.
I'm sorry you felt that desperate. I Hope you never get to that point in your life again.
I'm sorry if what I said made you uncomfortable, but it's the truth. And I'm being extremely vague here.
Yes, because ignoring the problems of others works oh so well.
No, I get that I'm privileged. I have never knowingly actively used it to my advantage, and I've never knowingly allowed others to use it to discriminate against others. It just is.
I agree with you that the Republican party, and its constituents need to remove their head from their ass. I voted to legalize marriage in my state, and I voted for Obama and associated democrat legislators.
Where did I call a woman crazy or dismiss her? I simply pointed out it was disingenuous to dismiss men's issues.
Right, they will have to be raised up. I poorly worded myself there. I meant to say that I felt I would benefit by voting to support their rights.

Yep, that's me. Right there. :) Enjoy!
So, white males, because we're in power, should simply choose to abscond from the discussion in general and what our place in a newer more equal society would be?
Not really. It just means men are more committed to offing themselves when they set their mind to it. By four times as much.
So, because women will be equal, perception of men's role in society will be more openly defined? Can you cite anywhere this would be factual rather than a simple utopian missive?
"White male victimhood is going national. And I mean, okay, men, your feelings are hurt. I get it. Total strangers are making fun of you for being a big white dork."
Because empathy trends towards an abstract, not an individual and it requires someone from the affected class to have a candid and tolerant back and forth conversation to properly convey an individualized idea of the issues that particular race/class/sex/whatever is facing.
As a white male I'm often just as trapped by societal convention as women. Do I feel oppressed? No, but I do feel stereotyped, negatively labeled, and abused-by-proxy. I didn't ask to be born white, or male in America. The fact that I won the genetic lotto in regards to our existing society isn't my fault.
Professional tip. Don't explain kindness or friendliness. Just don't. They've already made a snap decision about you, and you're going to look like an ass trying to correct their (allegedly) flawed thinking about your intent.
