Same.

Yeah it sounds regressive to the outside but this is sort of like accepting that gay marriage exists. They still want people to wait until marriage, but it seems like it’s ok to be gay married. I don’t agree with the waiting but I’m kinda cool with this in general.

I don’t even manage the twitter account where I work - I just deal with the actual solutions once the shit happens - and every time the person who does manage it goes “so we got this message” I groan.

My husband has Aspergers and has the weirdest issues with food. He just cannot and will not eat most normal foods humans eat. It’s embarrassing for both of us but as far as we both can tell he cannot help it, and every once in a great while I have to pull someone aside and explain the situation so he can eat something

That was my first thought - I would eat the shit out of that candy bar out of spite and chocolate.

There are some issues with testing whether someone is impaired while driving that I have heard presented as arguments - it’s not something that can be breathalized.

Yeah - I thought the “just” was really a method to politely bring up someone else’s failure. I just wanted to make sure (you are doing this thing I asked but you probably are not doing), I just wanted to check in (because you are late on this again), etc. Although I do see how I use it to generally soften a statement

I have honestly bought clothes before thinking “this seems like futuristic uniform clothing. Seems good.” I do love clothes and fashion, mostly, but maybe for like ...75% of life a standard uniform could be handy.

Where is her head? How is this even working?

I dunno, not wanting to end up seeing an unnecessary assault scene when you’re not expecting it doesn’t really make you an asshole. It doesn’t really seem like it furthered the story at all (other than the general “look how evil these dicks are, they rape women!” approach to narrative) and isn’t usually part of the

I do not understand the “this coffee is cold” thing either - I usually am trying not to scald my mouth on the damn stuff. How do people drink it that hot?

Yeah my first thought was there needs to be an organized group of flag-removers.

I think those people are different from the main anti-vax camp but I still disagree with them. It’s a public health issue and isn’t just about personal rights.

I haven’t, but it sounds perfect for this. More people need to speak out about their experiences because I really think that is how people will be convinced.

But that’s why any campaign against their ideas should also be based in emotion - facts can be secondary. Highlight the emotional dangers of losing a child or having a very sick child, and don’t do it in a superior way. I totally want to call them all morons, but no one is going to listen to someone who’s insulting

Yeah, while I personally find it really easy to BE condescending on this issue (how dumb can people possibly get??) it is also not the best way to convince people. And while I really do want to call them all idiots, I also want them to vaccinate their children for the sake of everyone.

In all seriousness, I was recently talking to my uncle-in-law about the way both sides of this debate market themselves. The predominant pro-vax response is “what the fuck is wrong with you you fucking crazy people,” followed by the facts and science supporting their arguments, which I think is a pretty valid

Yeah ladies’ night is not for women, or at least, not really.

Yeah! Like - shouldn’t it be on BOTH their terms? Because otherwise ... it’s rape?

Yeah - don’t we all have relatives and ancestors who were horrible people? Isn’t that just part of being people? I have ancestors who fought for the South in the Civil War, and others who served under Daniel Boone (possibly - they could have been lying hillbilles and I’d believe that too), and I am sure some of them
