It’s weird. Your complaints are actually some of the reasons I like the show.

Instead of manufacturing suspense and bleeding everything he can out of a situation, ONE takes the piss out of the mere idea of drawing that sort of thing out.

He knows what is important and paces those things appropriately.

1. Do we care

Except that the extent of the tutorials in Dark Souls covers only the basic controls.

(Preface: I’ve done some reviewing before, so I’ve thought about these kinds of things)

I think the people raging at TB didn’t read the article. Yeah, he might have thin skin, but ultimately that doesn’t matter. Any review he puts out is already tainted no matter what he does. To put it simply, any review he now puts out can have either of these claims:

I suggest you read the article again if you don’t understand why in fact the only professional thing to do in this situation is to recuse yourself from coverage of the title due to fears of perceived bias.

Yeah, so Totalbiscuit’s initial tweet was totally rational and reasonable. He didn’t call the game terrible, he simply said it wasn’t for him. The response from the developer was kinda’ out of line.

The battle system is nothing like Final Fantasy Tactics and the story is nothing like a "teens save the world affair with one-note characters." Try again next time!

I'm still taken aback about how so few JRPG's even exist on the PC Platform that you can play right now on Steam/GoG.
