While Drake might not be all that well liked here, I don’t think it’s fair to call him the nerdier version of a well-documented abhorrent pedophile and sexual predator. Yes Drake is an annoying schlub when it comes to women, but he isn’t marrying teenage girls and creating child pornography.

This seems pretty on brand tbh. That’s his whole thing right? Disrespecting and objectifying women and portraying it as some sort of honest and genuine devotion for them? I’ll pass.

Lol, men would call their doctor and their mommy if they had a period poop!

So you measure worth by cooking ability >> ability to spawn >> major contributions to society. Nice. /s

As others have mentioned, you are missing the point EVERY SINGLE TIME!

You just keep letting the point sail over your head, huh?

This isn’t the local paper. This is the New York Times. Her kids didn’t write it. I have nothing against including their memories in her obituary, and I’m not claiming that any real harm was done here.

Hotter take: no obituary for a man would focus on how gee-golly great he is at cutting the grass and identify him as a father first.

A classic-

Well, they're not less likely to offend but there are things that lower the risk. A job, place to live, treatment when they are young.

I don’t like sex offenders any more than the next person, but I think it’s pretty dangerous to make their lives so damned unlivable that the ones who want to be rehabilitated lose any motivation to stay on the right path.

If Woody Allen really was a pedophile, he would’ve molested more kids and would’ve been caught.

There was a lot to like about a confident female artistic voice when Lena Dunham first arrived, since then she hasn’t promoted a lot of new work and pretty much talks about her opinions which are often kind of crass and backwards. It’s ok to change your opinions about people. We all thought Yakoff Smirnoff was pretty

Why does this site have to be either Dunham’s #1 cheerleader or her loudest critic? Why do you seem to think it’s unacceptable for the writers at Jezebel to find some of her work interesting and then criticize other parts? Why is it that she’s either completely shitty or utterly brilliant?

Overall it was a great op-ed, however I am flabbergasted as to why she’s saying this film is opening up discussions about rape, when that is not the case. It is because Nate Parker (allegedly) raped someone. She acknowledged the allegations but then is sort of handing this to him like, “Look how great it is that he

Wow... so she humiliated and used someone as a pawn for laughs?

You do realize that a pro-woman discussion of female comics allows Maria Bamford and Amy Schumer to co-exist? Schumer’s success is only a detriment to Bamford if you believe that women inherently must compete with one another and that there’s only room for one of them.

That fucking sucks worse than I can articulate. Maybe women can start sitting out the national anthem. I’m not being flip, I am not kidding. What if 52% of the population started social protests like this. Maybe women will be harder to ignore than a lone QB. I love football, but I love justice more.

I can’t relate to “what if this happened to me?” I can only relate via my relationship with women. I have never been sexually or physically victimized and have little chance of it ever happening to me. So I’m trying to sympathize as best I can.

I wish men would stop saying this. We don’t have value because of our relationships with men - we are people with worth no matter whether we’re related to you or not. Instead of thinking, “what if this happened to my wife/sister/mother/daughter” try thinking “what if this happened to me.” Because that is what we think
