I matched with a guy on Hinge that was a Bernie fan and while he didn’t berate me for not being a supporter, he did send paragraphs about why Warren was not a good choice. I rolled my eyes and didn’t reply at the end (until my friend took my phone when we were drunk and messaged him back, which started it up a little

He didn’t run on a progressive platform. He ran on the equivalent to national “Romney Care” which wasn’t A to begin with, it was a public option. He delivered the ACA. He ran on “clean coal”, which is a laughable concept itself, and delivered improved environmental protections. He ran on bringing back troops from

Also, not for nothing, one of the extremely likely outcomes — given the inherently flawed and undemocratic nature of caucusing — is that Bernie Sanders has the most voters after the first round of voting... and places 2nd/3rd/4th in Iowa — because any candidate in any precinct getting less than 15% of the vote needs

More people than Bernie would try. Obama tried, too.

This is a perfect illustration of my point. Obama is still being dragged like he didn’t try.

Perhaps I’ve been too scarred by the false hope of the Obama years, when so much optimism and excitement and energy quickly curdled and went sour after candidate Obama became President Obama, and he abandoned the grassroots campaign that had powered his victory.

I am probably more of a Bernie fan than you, but I agree about his supporters. Anyone reading this who likes to just....I dunno, attack anyone who is not with you: do not underestimate the power of emotion when people vote. And if you are the one making people feel terrible, ask yourself whether you’re helping get

In 2018, a lot of moderates swung some red/purple district. That is proof. What that is not proof of is that centrism works on a state-wide or even national scale.

Lest the following comment be seen as too harsh, I want to note first that although Bernie is not my first pick, I’d gladly vote for him in November if he’s the nominee, and I voted for him last time in the primary. That said:

“While Paula admired Elizabeth Warren and agreed with her much-vaunted plans, “It’s like it’s

Yeah, I’m really getting a lot of 2016 vibes from this “we should all support the eventual nominee who we assume will be Bernie” I’ve been hearing lately.

I really don’t understand the people who are looking at Sanders and Warren, and going “yeah, obviously I’m going to pick the 85 year old white dude with the heart condition and the possible misogyny” when a smart woman with basically no downsides and almost identical policies is sitting right there.

I think you’re underselling Biden’s appeal to the people he appeals to. I think there are definitely a lot of people who will support Biden because they think he has the best shot of defeating the president, but I think they think that for a reason.

Says “We should vote for whoever the nominee is,” then preemptively casts doubt on any process that doesn’t result in a Bernie nomination.

I mean, it’s nice that they’re saying that and that this time round everyone agrees (even Bloomberg has pledged to spend up to a billion dollars to defeat trump and put his weight behind the nominee even if it isn’t him and even if it’s Sanders or Warren), but yeah let’s  be honest the Bernie bros are only saying it

I don’t really care if Hillary is helping or not in 2020. She did her part in 2016. We did our part. And she’s absolutely right about Bernie, who is really, really not helping.

the constant erasure of white asshole bernie bros hiding behind women and poc is really interesting to watch. I’m sick and tired of being told that my experience during the 2016 election didn’t happen. I was constantly told that my choices were disingenuous and that sexism wasn’t possible for these white men. It

Ehh, I agree with her. I’ll vote for him if he gets the nomination, but I hope he doesn’t.

I’d be insanely happy voting for this ticket.

I hate Bernie Sanders. I hate HIM. I hate his poisonous followers and their endless spewing of Russian lies about Hillary. I don’t want her to run just to spite them and I prefer Trump to Bernie because at least his followers admit to their seething misogyny and racism. I have seen Bernie Bros openly share Nazi memes
