I meant this year, but yes, agreed! That was garbage. Also garbage: Bridge of Spies, aka the movie every dad probably loves but is super extra boring.

I liked the setting, but the story wasn’t particularly engrossing, the characters’ mutterings made it hard to follow, and Chris Pine was just not believable. I liked Bridges’ character.
I started having an inkling about Arrival about halfway through, but I was still demolished at the end. Of course, *SPOILER* Mr. Scarves was annoyed and thought that there should have been less sick kid and more aliens, ugh.
La La Land is the kind of movie that one might like if they’re happy that Shakespeare in Love beat Saving Private Ryan, or who believes that “Across the Universe” was anything resembling a good film.
Oops, I meant Hacksaw Ridge instead of Hell or High Water the second time.
Soooo most overrated movie nominated for Best Picture, yes?
I live in Davis, and as lefty as the campus is, the town is MUCH more so. There’s no way they would have found an off campus location within city limits willing to host.
Question - if Trump is impeached/resigned due to his campaign collaborating with Russia, wouldn’t that knock out Pence too, since he was a part of the campaign? I feel like Paul Ryan isn’t particularly well liked by the GOP base right now, and that they would be pissed if he got the presidency that way.
Certainly explains why they’re all pro-waterboarding.
Did I miss it? Has Jezebel yet covered the news that Trump may be an *actual* Goldwater Republican?
And the horrifying thing is that he’s one of the most qualified people Trump’s nominated for his cabinet...
And going on about how “Identity politics” are not a focus and we should really worry about the poor rural white people who definitely are not racists/misogynists they just decided to vote for the man who came to power by questioning the legitimacy of the first black president and oh hey did you know he has a town…
I think Viola Davis winked at this when she was like “Ok, I did all the luncheons and banquets, so thanks Hollywood Foreign Press!”
And yet, not a single one of our senators stood up and objected when the electoral votes were being counted and certified. The few D representatives who spoke out were left to stand by themselves.
You’re not alone. And whether his most ardent supporters “get it” or not, there are millions of us who feel the same way, and that’s exactly why the push for him in 2020 is coming across as so opportunistic.
Thank you for the mansplaining and assuming that I cannot read/speak/research for myself!
Same. It seems like most of our Democrat leaders have crumpled into themselves following the election, and we have no one really standing up and fighting for us. It’s frustrating, and then Meryl gets up there and says what we’re all thinking and it’s so damn cathartic!
It’s not even that they act like they don’t remember anything before Obama, they don’t. The majority of people who feel/felt that way are either very young or very new to politics. It breaks my heart when I see young liberals badmouthing HRC and Obama as awful and conservative, and I will never forgive the political…
There are quite a few people on the far left who wanted this to happen. I can’t even remember all the times I saw Bernie or Busters saying things like “I’d rather have Trump, because I’d rather have four bad years than eight ok ones with Hillary” or “This country needs a reset, and then voters will go ultra liberal!”
She could be Mayor of Chappaqua!
