They brought in an accused sexual assaulter who liked to threaten employees on livestreams to run the company after Brevik left.

Well he’s not “mean and weird”, but what else is a married man, who doesn’t reciprocate her obvious feelings, going to say?

A+

That made me so happy I cried. Donnie’s a good egg.

Yes, the floodgate has opened and the stories are coming out. We haven’t heard as many of them in the video game industry yet, but they’re coming. Kotaku is actively working on several investigations right now that will hopefully lead to more harassment getting exposed. (And of course, if anyone reading this has any

What the hell is the matter with you that you’re trying to scrounge up some kind of loophole for this guy so that he scores a little higher on the Complete Shit of a Human Being scale?

I honestly don’t see why it matters, but ok.

He publicly said a closeted person was gay. Yes, he outed her.

Also! I just noticed how many times he talked about being admired in his statement and I feel gross all over again.

Of course his statement seemed genuine, writing pretty things is what he’s good at. But he doesn’t get brownie points for appearing genuinely contrite when it took five women going on the record in a NYT expose for him to own up to it. He might be genuinely sorry - I don’t know, the words “I’m sorry” are nowhere to be

I never commented about it, but I was perfectly content to see the “confusion” around the reporting (ie. Kirkman reversing on her statements, in retrospect for pretty obvious reasons) rather than consigning CK’s work to the trash like I should have.

Except “I’m sorry.”

I don’t get the PRAISE for this apology that I am seeing here, there and everywhere on social media. CK issued a good apology because he was already outed, after years of gaslighting the public about these “ridiculous!!!!” claims and maybe blacklisting a woman comedian who said they were true? Fuck all that noise.

A hefty FU to the multitudes of Gawker/Jezebel readers who flooded my comment a year or two ago angry because I said this guy’s brand of anti-sexist anti-racist comedy was itself sexist, racist and not particularly funny. I believed the rumors from the start. Also, as a man myself, believe me when i say C.K. is a

People are talking about how he is “owning it”, it’s like, no not really. He’s still trying to act like he was ignorant of the abuse he committed while doing it. So he’s only owning the act, not the drive to do it.

:O

Kinja won’t let me edit. I should say by “grief” I mean a lot of replies were abusive towards me, really shitty name calling. I get that people are allowed to disagree (it happens here:) with a comment but I wasn’t used to that kind of vitriol. It was weird.

I know this has been mentioned and written about (the Anna Merlan/Madeleine Davis “On Rumors” post yesterday was fantastic), but I still remember the avalanche of protest from his fans when these “rumors” surfaced on gawker and then the subsequent posts on Jezebel. I get occasional (and sometimes deserved) shit from
