Probably because the majority of third-parties decided that the Wii U was death because they couldn't sell shovelware on it, and the gaming media had to follow suite with that oft-repeated line, and now they don't want to appear hypocritical.

I 'opted out' of consoles this gen, but I'm actually feeling the need to get sucked back in because of the Wii U lineup.

I'm a backer with a copy of the game reward, and this may not be popular opinion, but I'm actually starting to have my doubts about this game.
