I hate Sunshine on so many levels it's not even funny. Intrguing science was nothing more than unplausible premise to set up a contrived plot.

I still don't understand why people did not like the ending of Lost so much that they now hate the show. I wish things would have been different for some of the characters, but since it wasn't my show, I can't really complain on how the creators ended it. And it was done well, and I was emotionally involved until…
I love the fact that this list is still on the internets. I 1st came across this list way back when I was still using my 33.6 baud modem to log into the Isca.bbs.
Except they particularly asked not to disturb the footprints. Items that only a human could have made. I had the opposite reaction of "I bet the moon landing nuts are quietly weeping at this article".
I get the joke, but in case you didn't know Canadarm1 was the arm on the shuttle.
I've now read two books by Banks. "Use of Weapons" and "Player of Games". I really wanted to like Banks...he was highly recommended and I wanted a new author to follow.
I felt the same way. Man was I depressed with that ending...the hopelessness of it all.
Elizabeth Smart seems like she has been able to move forward in her life. I know she'll never be 100% ok, but she's proving that life doesn't have to end after trauma. And if she could do it after what she went through, then there's hope for everyone.
Good call. Everything, from the cars to the hats the detectives wore were a throwback to the 50-60's.
"...and there are also some fantastic aircraft, including one inspired by the classic Northrop "Flying Wing" design"
This happens, while not regularly, often enough in the military. Every time you change commands (about every 3-4 years), you are supposed to update your beneficiary data. And every time I have done that, I have gotten a lecture about if I get divorced...make sure I update the data.
It's not affecting the radios, but maybe your headsets. Your amp may be going bad. I fly E-2s and the radar makes a beep in my helmet when my amp starts to wear out.
Piedmont_Bob:
Cell phone towers can only handle a few calls at a time. That's usually ok, because a phone on the ground only has line of site to a few towers at any one time. As the phone moves, that phone's slot is moved to different towers, freeing up a slot for another phone.
I know that this won't even be posted due to me not having a star, but...
Just re-watched the spider man films with the boys. Boy they really haven't held up well. The CGI is VERY noticeable. To the point where the transition between CGI and live action is pretty jarring. And Tobi MacGuire is soooo annoying in these movies...ugh.
Sexual Assault cases are handled pretty much outside the chain of command. Plus, an OPREP-3 message has to be released almost immediately whenever an accusation is made. An OPREP-3 goes throughout the whole Navy and all the way to SecDef. The consequences for not sending out a message, and then having the case…
Chubmaniac. I'm with you. I've been a military officer for 15 years and was at the Naval Academy for 4 additional years. In 19 years, every single sexual assault incident I knew of became a big deal and resulted in a high level investigation. Every single one. I can only think of a couple that didn't result in…
Rockets are unguided. Once you put a guidance package on it, it is a missile. So technically, almost all space "rockets" are missiles.
1st of all, according to the 1967 Outer Space Treaty...of which the U.S. is a signatory...every country has the right to the peaceful use and exploration of space. Unless we knew the rocket had an actual warhead, IT WOULD BE A VIOLATION OF INTERNATIONAL LAW TO INTERFERE IN ANY WAY WITH THE…
