I've been practicing the piano for 15 minutes a day since January 1st and it's probably the best tiny experiment I've ever done! I've learned how to play most of Fantasie Impromptu by Chopin, along with the first few pages of Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin. :D And those 15 minutes have become a form of meditation for

Then it's time to play board games with some random strangers! Or in a Google+ hangout!

I just use Pandora set on shuffle and gradually increase the media volume using Llama, so every day I'm gradually woken up by a new song. Because if I have the same alarm sound day after day, within a few days I tune it out and it no longer wakes me up.

Once in a while, I'll have maybe half a cup to a cup. Since I don't normally drink any coffee, I get sweaty and jittery right away. But every so often I'll get into the habit of drinking a cup every day, and I build up a tolerance to it within four days. Then it doesn't wake me up at all, and I stop drinking it again

I thought cooking brown rice was just as easy. I use about 3 cups of water for every 2 cups of rice, get it to a boil, turn it down to the lowest possible simmer until you no longer see water on the top (maybe 30 minutes), then turn off the heat, stir it up a bit, and let it sit for a while. It comes out perfect in

I use hardly any data because I always have wifi. :) Except for this one podcast and video streaming binge when I didn't have internet... I used up half a gig in two days.

Yay, Bruce Lee agrees with me! I love having impossible goals. Sometimes I wonder if they're just silly, but if Bruce Lee doesn't think so, then I guess I should stick with it.

What about ScribeFire? I like to use it even just offline to write posts with the split-screen feature on, so I don't have to tab back and forth so much. [www.scribefire.com]

I have no idea how much sleep I need, because if I let myself just sleep until I wake up naturally, I'll sleep like 10 or 11 hours! I couldn't possibly need that much sleep! I usually aim for 9 hours, but I can get by on 8 hours — maaaybe 7 and a half hours once in a while.

This is exactly like what Meebo has (www.meebome.com), except Meebo's chat thingy doesn't involve a pop-up window; instead, it's just an embedded chat box right on the page. But Google's version does take up less space on your website, which is a plus... Hmm, which do you think is better?

Great advice. I've always been unable to eat more than a few bites of anything really rich because I end up feeling sort of nauseous within a few minutes. So that's always worked to my advantage, health-wise.

Cute site! :) But the name "What's Cooking Grandma?" first made me picture a grandmother being boiled in a giant pot by some obscure alien creature. "What's Cooking, Grandma?" would've cleared that up. But I do like the name the way it is, because it's cute and funny!

Looks like the PocketMod to me. I had this exact same idea a few weeks ago: a tool for for converting an online to-do list into something you can print out on your PocketMod! Oh well, they did it first, lol.

How weird! I just discovered Typetester today. So far I'm finding it really useful. I'll have to check out those other tools that you guys mentioned, though...

Awesome! They have 25 for Los Angeles so far... I'll be sure to contribute sometime. Speaking of which, have you heard that they're planning to have free (or at least low-cost) Wi-Fi all around Los Angeles in 2009? *cry of joy* Eeee!!

That's pretty cool. I'd love to see this integrated with the web developer plugin for Firefox somehow! I know that the plugin has similar functionality, but the highlights from these bookmarklets are way cuter. ;)

Yup, I definitely spend more time on the computer! Well, my primary form of communication with my boyfriend is through instant messaging, so... does that count as time together? We only see each other once a week, but we're both on our computers practically all day long — and sometimes when we're together in person,

Wow, looks like this article was written just for me! I'll have to meet this fellow autodadictic blogger. :) Of course, that list is just the beginning of what you can find out there. For any specific subject, there are so many websites and communities and free software and podcasts and everything, it would be crazy

Oh, nevermind, they do have widget-type things — they call them badges, though. Nice. Also, I think this could be an interesting way to keep track of how well you're actually spending your time. You can use their this-many-minutes-ago thing and/or just add the current time in each of your updates to see how much time
