Lots of people aren't PC gamers and lack that type of perspective, however true it may be. Mind you these are the same type of people that think 24 player console FPS games stand at the peak of what they consider to be "good games".

That choice was up to the discretion of individual developers. Let's not forget that the Wii supported three standard controller options. You can hardly fault the console when developers are the ones not taking full advantage of the hardware.
There are just so many contradictory rumours, on-record statements, and spec estimates already available. The language used isn't specific enough either, especially when it's an anonymous source. What does "The graphics are just not as powerful," even mean from a technical standpoint? It can't keep up because it has…
Daring and enticing? It was just another system with a slightly special CPU that upon further inspection was terribly inefficient. Even if it wasn't it still wouldn't have offered anything different enough to be considered "daring". Nintendo taking a left turn while everyone was going right was daring. The PS3? A more…
Yeah, they would have to do something like buying obsolete hardware to make it less powerful than current HD consoles. That would probably drive costs up instead of down since they would have to restart manufacturing old hardware. They would have to put in MORE effort and money to make a console weaker than the HD…
"MS did suffer major RROD issues but they still manage to stay ahead of Sony regardless."
Better than "Hey! Here's our more expensive and difficult to use product that offers little to no advantages, and sometimes worse performance, from our cheaper competition! Who needs games when you can have Bluray movies!"
Go back to IGN Colin.
That's nothing new to Mass Effect or Bioware.
Those other businesses are probably worse but it's not like the worst thing EA does is release day one DLC and release bad games.
Sure, if your only experience is with the Bad Company games...
EA was the evil empire, changed their ways for a year or two, then reverted back again.
Or Google "Mass Effect 2 ending chart" if that doesn't work.
Never mind the fact that they somehow did exactly what they said they WEREN'T going to do. Don't forget that this is a GAME.
It's fanfiction, desperation to justifiy their time investment, financial investment, and emotional investment. No matter how much sense or how preferable fanfiction can be, it is no proper ending.
As someone who played BF3 for a while there isn't anything wrong with the idea. It actually makes a lot of sense.
You should just hope they actually understand why people like Smash Brothers. Chances are they'll forget about the accessible, random, and silly nature of SSB combat and instead make 3D Guilty Gear Isuka with Sony characters.
Clone then? That's what we usually call games that copy other games.
If games ever want to be taken seriously as an art it will need to be objective. Other mediums have objective measures of quality and are criticized and analyzed academically based on those factors.
"Yeah I don't think JRPGS are dead, but they're definitely stuck in a rut, especially if you are exposed to other japanese media like manga and anime. Stories in the three mediums have become too standardized and cross-pollinated."
