huh, hadn’t realized. Guess I hadn’t used Barbara lately much. I did always find the non-combat lines of her weird and muted, so it makes sense that they aligned the two better. Wish it was the other way though. DEFINITELY not on the VA. Dammit people...

The only part that doesn’t work for me in the examples is that Eden Prime screenie. That really is a major shift in mood and presentation. Virmire however comes across the same way as I remember it.

Now, them changing the game to be more like a shooter than an action-RPG I resent. And the Mako is perfect as it is

omg. don’t use a black and white photo. I thought he had died before I finished reading that headline. Heck even at “depart” I was like “HE DEPARTED LIFE???”

I like the current day framing device (but don’t really care much about the Isu apart from when they use it to do those wild “this message is for the animus user, not the person standing here” things), but yeah as much as I love the series, it doesn’t respect my time. It feels even worse than with other open world

Wasn’t jacob the one that was super uncomfortable to talk with as a female character? I vaguely remember being off-put from talking with him because it felt like he and the game wanted him to romance my Shep

same, although I’m definitely not going to buy it. Rowling’s transphobia will always be on my mind. And heck, the thought that with my purchase I validate WBs choice to continue working with someone who hates my existence...

that ME3 ending (and the fact it’s all the same video for the most part, just recolored). I’m glad they ended up adding a “Shepard refuses” ending, since that feels so much more true to my Shepard, even if it’s the “bad” ending.

same, although I disliked ME2 more due to how it changed game design-wise from ME1. The level structure, the loading screens, the fact that it’s more of a shooter than RPG, less inventory management, etc.

With the newest Tomb Raider trilogy, at the end of it I feel like at the start: I wish it had been a new series with a new hero beside a separate series with a badass larger than life thrill-seeker Lara jumping through traps, solving puzzles and hunted by ancient forgotten fauna.

Absolutely agree about the combat. it was all about exploration and puzzle solving, while combat was pretty dangerous and uncommon. To me it should always be Lara vs. nature/ruins/the supernatural. Taking down hoards of faceless human enemies never feels right for her.

But Orig... okay I’ll put down the pitchfork... BUT I WON’T DO IT HAPPILY.

I just treat my backlog as a sortof Netflix library. I don’t have to play it all, but I can pick up whatever I currently feel like playing. I do try to alternate between big games and small games, to knock the big games out of the way, but to also occasionally get a quick sense of progress on a game that doesn’t take

It’s super weird how in Europe we only got Xenosaga 2, which included a DVD with the cutscenes of XS1, but we never got XS3 to complete the story. We only got the apparently worst entry in the series??

I had Xenoblade on wii for the longest time and never got around to it. When I saw X I didn’t get it solely due to the character design, which felt off. When XC: definitive edition dropped I went and just bought everything Xenoblade, despite never having played any of it.
I LOVED XC1. Everything about it was so

Yeah, everything I heard compared it to Anthem or Destiny. Two multi-player focused games that I’m not interested in. I hear the campaign is good, but now it’s hard to believe I’d enjoy the gameplay, since it was built for multiplayer.
Also the games as a service aspect also makes me less interested.

Epic Mickey, Red Steel 1 & 2, Sonic and the uhm I want to say secret rings, madworld which I neeeeever played, a much better Prince of Persia Forgotten Sands, NFS Nitro, Last Story, RE Darkside Chronicles, Project Zero 2, Okami, dragon ball, and so on :P

Didn’t Sony and Microsoft bail on console generations by making their pro consoles? The Switch came pretty much when I expected the new generation to pop up.

My favorite ones are definitely Spider-Man 2000, Ultimate Spider-Man (which made me give the ultimate comics another chance, since I originally didn’t like issue 1), and Marvel’s Spider-Man.

I thought I had read that the game ultimately was going to be critical of reagan, but I guess that didn’t happen. Disgusting.
