Yeah, time team is great. They take a field next to a highway, or someone’s back yard, then dig up the most amazing things. Ok, so usually just foundations of buildings, broken pottery, sometimes coins etc. But it’s still amazing to think that beneath the banal soil of so many parts of modern day Great Britain lies

Very superglad to be able to help. If you can find some cool trinket other than a ring that would work, it would be extra cool.

I made my belt pouch in JUST this way.

everything is filmed in vancouver these days. and thats ok with me. vancouvers awesome.

I think that Guedelon is the most recent, actually, and that they did the farm before that. They have some other periods as well, but all too recent to be of much interest to me.

Last I was aware, Scotland was not as friendly (in tax terms) to movie-making as Ireland or indeed many Eastern European countries, which breaks my heart. I know a couple of ace movie scouts in Scotland tho (one “found” the forest that the battle at the start of Gladiator took place in) so fingers crossed.

If not Scotland, there are some forests on the Olympic Peninsula and up on Vancouver Island in the Pacific Northwest that have a similar drippy foggy, wooden feel.

Dunno if you’ve ever seen this YouTube channel but these guys are swordsmiths and they’ll make any weapons they can think of, from movie to video game weapons.

1) S’okay. I used to be a money-obsessed conservative and now I’m a liberal PhD student studying musical culture. (LOTR being one constant.)

The only point in the image was that it was the same type rendered in three different color schemes right next to each other. This is one of the things that makes me think that they used more temporary surface embellishments as well as carving, staining, etc.

Haha no, I’m not. It’s from the tv edit version of Die Hard 2 where instead of “Yippee-ki-yay motherfucker” He says, “Yippee-ki-yay Mr. Falcon”.

Thanks for your answer. I couldn’t tell how close it was to your nose.

i think the big difference was arians didn’t believe jesus was an equal to god, because god was his dad and created him.

i know that christian missionaries in scandinavia used ragnarok as tool for conversion. they would essentially explain that after ragnarok the two people who survive would repopulate the earth. i think in the norse sagas their names were leif and leifthasr or something along those lines, missionaries made it out that

I hope they stay lifted. I’m doing an all grain brew from scratch on the 13th.
