@bob_d: But can we forcibly speed it up to make this happen over hundreds of years, to maybe improve us as a space faring race? I ly understand electricity in drpth, so my dreamer mind must wonder if somehwow, or biological knowledge can help us speed it up.

@cinnamonster: Ah no I don't want anything that's slavery related. Maybe more of a dating site for people with unusual abilities, qualities that are worthy of a Discovery Channel special. Match them up and see if the kids have any interesting attributes that are above average. But the people can decide to participate

@SilverWingsOfMorning: Well if the rogue black hole hears me, I suppose that's my Destiny. :)

@Mark 2000: So it's possible and not just a Star Trek episode? I'm not saying make a master race and wipe out the rest, of course, just take a sample with voable genetic samplins, get a major trait to evolve, then kingle that DNA back into the general populace. So people who are more resistant to cold make some super

Okay, sitting on a microwave won't mutate your DNA and make you evolve, but if we wany to evolve, can we work on that? We're able to see it in other species, so theoretically, could we force evolution on a small group of humans? Find a trait and start breeding it and over a few hundred years, end up with something

@SilverWingsOfMorning: Do the rsidents of Futura also complain about kids running all over their lawns, and remember a time when kids were more respectful? :)

The othef thing to note is that oil is used for so much more than fuel. Everyone says that the oil companies don't want electric cars, well, there's still all those plastic containers and sweaters and tires to make. Oil is part of our culture. Even bycycles benefit from oil.

I am going to do a dance of my own, not with dragons, but in celebration and eager anticipation. *shakeshakeshake* see there I go. Shaking it in celebration. The TV version is good but new territory is the best place to live the adventure.

All of my views about the heroes of the show are coloured by what I know from the books. We have protagonists, certainly. Thankfully, the show is going to stick to the main story and not turn into cheese. It's not a buddy-knight dramedy, and I hope no one tries to make such a thing. Well if they do, royalties to me,

All gruesome, yes. The Steel Remains was quite freaky with the heads fused to tree stumps.

Badass seems to be a character attitude as much as the abilities of said character or the amount of destruction the character can cause.

@Asha L Kydd: Thanks for that link! I now realize that I've never seen it because I've never been out on the right. Time to fix that!

@Wolfsheim: Oh hush, I am sure many people are curious to see if the actor lives up to the character. ;)

@Hello Mister Walrus: I don't think Arnold will be eclipsed, but it might be nice to get a grtty, gory story once again, without the mozza and cheddar topped sequel of the first venture into a Conan movie franchise. And it's still a lot better than the other fantasy movies of the time. :)

@Dirk Anger: I dislike her and I dislike reading about her. She is exactly what an idealistic medieval girl would have been like, so I can't fault George for writing her that way, but she needs a smack in the head!!! In real life, Sansa would be the only kid I'd ever let play with my electrical arc simulator

@ehud_1980: Wheel of time is crap. More complicated but full of fluff. Thrones and the following books are a bit simpler to keep together and always engaging. The characters are much better, too.

@Skyldt: I think I am Arya, or I would have been had I grown up in such a story. She's the character I love reading about the most.

@Captain_Tripps: You know, I suspect that I never truly enjoy the books because of Sansa. I know that's her character, and Martin captures it so well, but in real life, I'd have to smack her around. She's an awful person. And I can't cheer for her. Ever.

Loved the books, been following the hype, yet right now, I am quietly ambivalent. I have no idea why. Ah well. Mountain time means a few hours to go, and we'll see how it goes. :)

Srangely enough, I thought I would be excited, but I am a bit apathetic. I am sure it will be great television, dramatic and gory and brutal and everything most shows are not. I actually signed up for HBO Canada to see it without waiting for it, but with a vew hours before it's on in the Mountain time zone, I'm not
