These are good points, but I’d counter that, at least in the USA, game prices haven’t gone up even if you don’t adjust for inflation. And to say that gaming is more expensive because people have less disposable income, well. Language is a living thing and all that, but I think that’s a stretch.

Video games are expensive. They have been expensive for a very long time, and they keep getting more expensive.

Now playing

A game about a one-armed protagonist with “Severed” in the title? You don’t say.

Judging by the sample of your list, you tend to strongly prefer 2D Zelda entries, which is of course perfectly valid. I love those games too (except Oracle of Seasons and Ages). Even having grown up in the NES and SNES era though, I would personally rank Breath of the Wild at the top, and Ocarina of Time and Majora’s

I’m hoping that in remaking Skyward Sword, they choose to streamline it a lot.

Yeah, I tried to play the Oracle games on 3DS recently, after not having completed them on GBA back in the day. They have some good aspects, but they’re not great. I think the thing that made me put them down was the annoying, mandatory mini-games. The games have a lot of padding, which is bad at the best of times but

Of course people can have different opinions! I’m sharing mine, it a way that may have admittedly come off as very confrontational.

Nothing! It’s not bad. It’s just nowhere near being “one of the better Zeldas” since most of them are so good.

No, I don’t think so. It’s been forever since I played Minish Cap, but I don’t think it’s going to make you tear your hair out like Sunshine can.

[Minish Cap] is also one of the better Zeldas,

Am I the only one who was hoping the “Switch Pro” would have stereoscopic 3D like the 3DS?

No, it isn’t.

Aipom and Ambipom are in the original Sinnoh Dex, but you’re right about Porygon-Z. Here’s hoping the game has at least the Platinum Dex.

Well that’s their fault for making a game that wasn’t fun, at least according to most critics I’ve seen. Brand new things that are also fun usually sell quite well.

This looks pretty disappointing. The previous remakes really modernized their looks and mechanics, whereas this one seems to be doubling down on nostalgia. And although this could prove incorrect, it sounds like only Pokemon from the Sinnoh region will be in the game, which would actually be a downgrade from the

In the second I find a dungeon save spot thinking it’s the end, only to realize I’m not even a third of the way through it. Random encounters with spongy enemies pile up one after the other, failing to reward me with as much XP and gold as I would like, while also soaking up the majority of my healing items.

Yeah, that’s fair.

(If anything, I was thrown for a loop more by the game’s unconventional spelling. In the fiction of Project Triangle Strategy, “domains” is spelled “demesnes,” while “jail”—the place someone needs to go for this naming structure—is spelled “gaol.”)

No, cloudkit and I are different people. And feeling owed a video game is different than being owed an apology. If you think of “people” as one monolithic mass of “Not Me”, you may be a sociopath.

Yes.
