Less prisons more money for schools and mental health! Also I am tired of state governments paying private contractors to house prisoners. It is cheaper to use house arrest and not imprison people for most non violent crimes.

I had the misfortune of going to an incredibly small, fairly remote college where Aramark was the only option for non-vending machine food. I was once served rice that was both undercooked (still crunchy in the center) and overcooked (scooped like a paste). The most shock I could summon for the maggots was "huh."

Since Sept. 26, state officials have banned 76 Aramark employees from prisons for "serious misconduct" that includes unspecified relationships with inmates, security violations and importing contraband.

Based on the headline alone, I thought Aramark was pioneering a new program to serve prepared insects as a source of protein in prisons. I actually thought it was a really interesting pioneer program (opt-in for prisoners) since bugs are really good from a nutrition perspective and also a cheaper source of protein.

People love a redemption narrative, and hate what they see as elitism in politics- I think her background could help her, depending on where she is and how she plays her cards.

That is a terrible and creeptastic situation but DAMN I am so glad to hear about a manager acting appropriately in that situation! It would have been better if the manager had reacted sooner, but I guess you can't win 'em all.
