My brother, age 26, died last year from skin cancer. It was the most horrific thing I've ever had to watch. So you keep worrying about those "toxins" in the sunscreen. I'm fucking bathing in it.

hmm. Let me think. The very ominous terror of "toxins" or the very real very likely possibility of CANCER. I think I'll take my chances with "toxins."

Explain to me what toxic means, what specific chemical compounds you believe them to contain, and what physiological impact you believe they have on humans?

In schools here in Oz, most schools whether underfunded public or private line kids up, are given a squirt of sunscreen and watched apply it. We have an ongoing "Slip Slop Slap" campaign. Slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen and slap on a hat. Seems to work overall. But again we have high skin cancer rates.

That's why there should be better training, including training about the issues you mention.

My best friend refuses to eat in public after being told to 'put it down' by men passing cars. One morning (on our commute) she made a safe, legal lane change in front of an unobservant male driver who screamed at her that if she 'put her fucking hash browns down so your fat arms can turn the wheel'.

Hahahahahahaha "accusing me of not knowing what it's like to be skinny". Totally legit realistic fear that's totally normal.

Nah she grabs *her* stomach. If she grabbed mine I'd straight punch her =P

And I do eat super duper healthy 100% of the time (okay, maybe 98% of the time) and am still chubby... *sigh*

I can see your point but I think that making fun of people for being thin is inextricably tied to making fun of people for being fat. For example, as this article describes, people were mocking thin people by assuming that they can only be thin on the assumption that they never, ever eat anything fun. It's the other

It doesn't offend me as in I'm going to blog about it. I'm thin enough to have people accuse me occasionally of an eating disorder or ask "where it all goes" constantly and I don't personally feel oppressed. That said, it's too sides of the judgment coin for women that proves we can't do a damn thing right. If you're

Oh god! That's the worst, especially from food service folks. Interestingly enough, I had a verrrry similar experience today when I was getting a chopped salad to-go. The two salad dudes were snickering back and forth over how "huge" my salad and actually caused me to second guess what I was eating. I kept

Who the fuck cares?

my mother-in-law, too!!! She will take it upon herself to order more for me sometimes if she doesn't approve. NOT COOL, especially since I have a long, long history of eating disorders so eating out is already a struggle for me. She just cannot seem to get this concept.

Sam on iCarly (and later Sam and Kat) and Selena Gomez' character on Wizards of Waverly Place are both portrayed as heavy eaters and are both super thin. Sam would have gallbladder surgery and heart disease already based on how much she goes on about bacon, ham, and fried chicken.

Oh I know. It's not like I don't understand someone being envious because they can't eat delicious things for whatever reason, whether it's a weight problem, a food allergy, or whatever, but what is anyone supposed to do about it? Go eat in a closet? Just everyone leave each other alone; there's enough ugly attitude

Thanks for sharing your measurements! They are relevant!

this is the same as mocking a heavy person for eating a salad. like "lol you don't actually like healthy food look at your body." it's a snap judgement and it's bullshit.

Not against it. I know lots of slim people are naturally slim but there are also alot who aren't but pretend to fall into this category and get their omg amazing body from eating chocolate everyday! It buys into that whole ridiculous perfect cool girl thing of the girl who doesnt care about dieting but has a slim

Sorry, from the tone it sounded as if you were rationalizing the negative reaction.
