Strauss gets kicked out by Arthur before the end, so he would be another.  As far as a can recall, Karen and Swanson make it out, too.  In any case, there’s a good number of survivors.

Yeah, there’s definitely a disappearing guns bug. I had to rebuy the double-barrelled shotgun hours after initially finding it in Kieran’s first mission. The same bug seems to happen to ammo sometimes, too. I repeatedly had 200 rounds of varmint rifle ammo just disappear out of my inventory for no reason throughout

At least seven characters from the gang (not including the main ones from the original RDR) survive all the way through the end of the epilogue, if I’m remembering right. I don’t want to actually list them out of respect for spoilers.

I manually saved after looking in the back window, but before actually walking into the doctor’s office to do the stick-up. I was always able to replay it by reloading that save.

To be fair, there are a significant amount of gang characters who both don’t die and aren’t mentioned in the first game.

Another frustrating thing is that your bounty goes up for every item you steal EXCEPT the money on the table and the gun.  So it seems like they meant you to only have time to grab those before running out.

Great timing! I literally spent over an hour playing and replaying this robbery last night, trying to figure out the optimal path through it. Ultimately, I realized that after hog-tying or knocking out the first 3 lawmen who come in, the rest stay outside, so you can loot at your leisure. Best way to get out quick is

Seriously.  You could buy a brand new video game console for that price, and get exponentially more use and value.

Specialty Lego” is right up there with “brand new car” on the list of things that would be nice to own, but that i will never have enough disposable income to fully justify.

I’m saying there’s no tangible negative impact on gameplay, if a person can get over the numbers on the stat screen and the obsessive compulsive need to do everything the game offers. Compare it to purely optional mechanics in any other game, like the crafting system in Fallout 4—yes, you could absolutely dive deep

With the exception of riding around on horseback (and even that can be somewhat negated by unlocking the fast travel,) almost none of these things are vital to the actual gameplay though. It’s all effectively optional content. You don’t take a significant health hit for not ever having Arthur eat. You can never

I think “threatening” needs to be qualified with the additional “acts of physical violence.”  I defy any parent to try raising a well-behaved kid without having to threaten at least SOME kind of consequences for bad behavior.

Sounds like a spree shooter in waiting...

Can anyone explain to me why people would have any reason at all to look forward to this game?  It seems like such a disaster.

The problem is his stubble and brows are still jet black. I get that even in Witcher 3 Geralt has dark eyebrows, but his beard is white as a ghost. Having a dark 5 o’clock shadow is a big part of what makes this look more awkward than necessary.

My solution (and I am fully aware that this wouldn’t work for everyone) is to essentially sacrifice an extra hour of sleep so that I can get in a solid 2-3 late at night after my kid and wife have gone to bed. Generally that means a 10:30 or 11:00 to 1:00 PM playtime each day. Some days, I give up and go to sleep

I get where you’re coming from, totally, because I’m similarly a salaried employee who frequently works irregular hours including evenings and weekends. I somewhat disagree with the sentiment that any of the work you’re doing is “unpaid” though. When you agree to a salary, you are agreeing to a yearly amount,

This doesn’t seem like a Rockstar-specific problem so much as a general corporate culture problem. And that’s never going to change unless American culture gets serious about pushing back against this sort of thing at large, which basically means it’s never going to change.

Meanwhile, sweet screenshots!

It’s not just a conservative thing. Aloof detachment and condescension directed at people who aren’t part of whatever “us” the particular group represents is a universal human flaw. There are plenty of liberals who don’t really care about other people.
