I’m saying there’s no tangible negative impact on gameplay, if a person can get over the numbers on the stat screen and the obsessive compulsive need to do everything the game offers. Compare it to purely optional mechanics in any other game, like the crafting system in Fallout 4—yes, you could absolutely dive deep

With the exception of riding around on horseback (and even that can be somewhat negated by unlocking the fast travel,) almost none of these things are vital to the actual gameplay though. It’s all effectively optional content. You don’t take a significant health hit for not ever having Arthur eat. You can never

I think “threatening” needs to be qualified with the additional “acts of physical violence.”  I defy any parent to try raising a well-behaved kid without having to threaten at least SOME kind of consequences for bad behavior.

Sounds like a spree shooter in waiting...

Can anyone explain to me why people would have any reason at all to look forward to this game?  It seems like such a disaster.

The problem is his stubble and brows are still jet black. I get that even in Witcher 3 Geralt has dark eyebrows, but his beard is white as a ghost. Having a dark 5 o’clock shadow is a big part of what makes this look more awkward than necessary.

My solution (and I am fully aware that this wouldn’t work for everyone) is to essentially sacrifice an extra hour of sleep so that I can get in a solid 2-3 late at night after my kid and wife have gone to bed. Generally that means a 10:30 or 11:00 to 1:00 PM playtime each day. Some days, I give up and go to sleep

I get where you’re coming from, totally, because I’m similarly a salaried employee who frequently works irregular hours including evenings and weekends. I somewhat disagree with the sentiment that any of the work you’re doing is “unpaid” though. When you agree to a salary, you are agreeing to a yearly amount,

This doesn’t seem like a Rockstar-specific problem so much as a general corporate culture problem. And that’s never going to change unless American culture gets serious about pushing back against this sort of thing at large, which basically means it’s never going to change.

Meanwhile, sweet screenshots!

It’s not just a conservative thing. Aloof detachment and condescension directed at people who aren’t part of whatever “us” the particular group represents is a universal human flaw. There are plenty of liberals who don’t really care about other people.

I have a set of these, and I have very mixed feelings about them. On the one hand, the sound quality is fantastic. However, they are flimsy as hell. The little plastic hinges on mine broke within a year, before the factory warranty was even up. This was just from normal use; I’ve never been tough on them. Some

That’s a free $10 that you can put towards Ubisoft’s XP booster!  Yeah!!

I agree with your general point, but wanted to point out that art is now and has been for most of human history a financially driven endeavor. The idea of art as “creative expression” ONLY is a fairly recent idea in the history of art. Ironically, nowadays we also are seeing the extreme commodification of art, not

Good point.  Thanks for the tip.  I had heard about this but didn’t realize it was possible to still get access.

The real issue here is that people need to try the game out first and make up their own mind before commenting on the pace of progression.

That said, the shadiness of selling all of these questionably valuable different versions of the game, and the shamelessness of the way Ubisoft has handled all of this, including

This is indeed a good deal, but if someone really wants to see the evolution of the character and his backstory, they should start with the Last Wish.

Kotaku is running PR for Ubisoft now??

You have shattered my beautiful illusion that all Disney cartoons were historically accurate.  I hope you can live with yourself.

Thanks!  I couldn’t find this info anywhere.
