American bourbons are extremely well-priced, for the quality, compared to whiskeys in other countries in general. When you can get a very solid bottle for around $30, and quite a GOOD bottle for twice that, it’s a great place to live if you’re a bourbon lover.
Seems a few people beat me to it! Some more info though, from wikipedia:
Just jumping in to be “that guy.” Athames is his name; Strategos is his military title. ;)
Could it be that people who sign up to beat the shit out of each other for a living might have issues with violent behavior?
What does it say about me that my mainstays are also usually mountaintop games? I can always dip into Dark Souls III for some PVP and it remains endlessly satisfying, even when I’m getting my ass handed to me.
Fair enough; I get that. I think that that’s the point of the show’s treatment of current politics though. It’s making the point that such intransigence from either side helps no one. Progress is made through compromise. It’s sad that we’ve reached a point where the very idea of compromise and forgiveness is now seen…
I’m going to file this one in my “who the fuck cares; life is too short” box.
Damn. I love this kid.
Stop the presses: Trump is a narcissist!
And no, it doesn’t directly deal with Trump being anti-trans, but it definitely does deal with understanding and acceptance of fluid gender identity, and clearly promotes acceptance.
The overarching politics of the show (so far) seem to land pretty clearly left of center, with Roseanne herself being portrayed as stubborn and even potentially wrong-headed in her views. It was a strikingly true portrayal of generation gap political differences in families, and did not in any way pick sides. This is…
Exactly. The overarching politics of the show (so far) seem to land pretty clearly left of center, with Roseanne herself being played up as stubborn and even potentially wrong-headed in her views. It was a strikingly true portrayal of generation gap political differences in families, and did not in any way pick sides.
The show is in no way pro-Trump. If anything, it makes fun of the culture shift and the age gap between the progressive younger generation and the often conservative older generations. The second episode is actually pretty explicitly pro-LGBTQ in its embrace of their gender non-conforming grandson. It’s just not at…
Yes, in the same way that Mel Brooks’ dictator caricature was. Context matters.
I think this is easily the best of these classic sitcom revivals. There are a lot of bitter people that can’t separate the politics from the fact that this show pretty much exactly captures the tone of the original run of the show. It’s great so far.
Deschutes is just the tip of the iceberg here, friend. ;) They do have fantastic pub-exclusives though.
Just don’t expect to be able to buy property here unless you’re an absurdly wealthy California retiree... ;)
It is a fun place to live though.
Can’t it be both?
Hahaha...I was just coming here to say this. Talk about understatement!
