I think it’s interesting how many people are parroting the idea that a lax attitude about what contemporary society would label pedophilia is somehow at odds with intense religiosity. Pretty much all of the major world religions at one time endorsed the idea that a girl is of marriageable age as longs as she has…
You’re not wrong, but your comment raises the major issue of the inherent difference between traditional visual art and video games. Traditional art collections can be documented, reproduced visually via photography and film, and thus have the essence of the content made available to the masses and preserved for…
That’s absolutely what they did (that’s if they actually bothered with a real poll at all and aren’t just printing out and out lies.) It’s a naked attempt to both 1) juice the GOP base for one last burst of voter turnout, and 2) lure any lazy Dem voters into a false sense of complacency.
Ah, fair enough. Seems like that would have been an important clarification to include in this article though.
As much as I dislike this policy, doesn’t the fact that the Supreme Court ruled on it mean that its legality is no longer up for debate and has now been more or less officially decided?
Part of the problem with Wolfenstein II is that it’s not particularly well balanced in terms of difficulty. There are several areas throughout the game where the difficulty spikes in a major way, often with little or no warning, and really puts up a roadblock on what otherwise is a solid challenge (on the default…
Cheap-ass PS4 base model for life.
This from the same writer who, in your previous Battlefront II article, explicitly took the stance of “well, it doesn’t affect me because I only care about single player.” Well, I suppose that explains the sarcastic quotes around “predatory behavior.”
So, watch the campaign on Youtube at some point; got it.
I’m also an art historian and a professor (though Renaissance is not really my area of expertise, beyond the general survey courses,) but everything that I’ve read about this painting suggests that there’s really no way to just look at it and say that it’s obviously not a da Vinci. My understanding is that during his…
I honestly kind of felt like they overplayed the naivete of the character in the first film and in some ways actually reinforced common misogynistic stereotypes, like women loving sweets, for example (the ice cream scene.) I definitely thought it was a mixed bag in terms of how well it really handled the women’s…
Yep! I actually mentioned that somewhere in response to someone else in this thread. The original was something called Immersive HUD, and the new standard is called Friendly HUD, which has a ton of other options and basically lets you completely rework the HUD and bind different HUD elements to different shortcut…
How fair is it when the cosplayer is also a celebrity lookalike though? I mean, COME ON. lol
Are we sure this isn’t just a Ubisoft advertisement? In all seriousness though, damn.
Well, it’s definitely not impossible, but without the minimap on, you almost certainly will be pulling up the full worldmap regularly, and unfortunately (at least on consoles) that function was annoyingly laggy (thankfully the PS4 has a shortcut to it by swiping the touch pad.) I can’t imagine anyone could really do…
Agreed. I’ve enjoyed some of the mods that address this for some of these games, too, by making the minimap something that can be toggled on and off with the press of a button. There’s a great one out there for Witcher 3 that links the minimap to the use of Geralt’s witcher sense.
I agree in concept, but it absolutely depends on the world design of the game. The main problem with minimaps, as I see it, is not so much the visual distraction as it is the fact that the assumption of their presence and use changes the way developers design their game worlds. The problem with playing Assassin’s…
I never said there was anything wrong with photo-editing. But this isn’t a an article about showcasing a photographer’s work, it’s an article about showcasing a cosplayer and her amazing costume and props. Let those shine without the digital manipulation. :)
It’s not just basic lighting and color correction. The first two images have painted atmospheric effects and additional painted “aura” effects on the figure herself to make it look more like a video game. They’re definitely going for a painterly effect here. For my taste it just detracts a bit from the overall impact.…
