Heh...too true. Though I’d argue Tie Fighter holds up a lot better today than Dark Forces, since first person shooters have changed SO much since the Doom clone days. I love them both though, so go figure.

Ha...I literally came here to ask this same question. Alien Isolation was so underrated by mainstream gaming press. I can only hope this takes the best parts of that game and puts them to good use.

You know what I don’t have to work hard for or spend a lot of money on? Emulating all of these games and more for free on my computer.

I think it’s safe to say that if there’s any lesson to be learned from this election, it’s that listening to the polls is not a recipe for success.

Those SNES classics are pretty timeless. I also like the PS1 era survival horror games, particularly the Resident Evil series, warts and all. I also still enjoy digging out the original Tomb Raider and its sequel. But yeah, most other early 3D stuff, shooters in particular, are just objectively terrible.

What kills the tank controls in the HD remaster is the analog stick on today’s controllers—the tank controls actually work pretty well with a d-pad, which makes sense since that’s what they were designed for (original PS controllers had no sticks.)
