Back in the day, Slate used to have the Double XX blog. There was one entry by a man, and I really did lose my shit.

Not that it will change their precious fee fees, but someone needs to drill to these guys that a population majority is not the same as a social majority.

Men (some men, #notallmen, blahblahblah, *fartnoise*) will not stop until there isn’t a single space, place, event, etc. where women think they can be free of the gaze or judgement. Yet god forbid you ever criticize a good ol’ boys’ club because then you’re destroying the fabric of society.

If you thought wealthy men got a lot of shit for kneeling, wait until y’all see what happens to an underpaid woman.

Cheerleaders are already living in a culture of harassment and are severely underpaid. It was extraordinarily brave of her to do this, but I worry about her safety.

Cheerleaders are allowed to have names now? What’s next — a pay scale that exceeds minimum wage? That’s madness.

Chances are, she’s already on the way out. Cheerleaders are disposable.

I can’t wait to see all the videos of offended fans burning their erections and/or vowing never to look at cheerleaders again.

Lets not identify her, so she doesn’t become a target of the unhinged republicans.

I hope someone cracks this case, and cracks it soon.

How much do you want to bet they are subsequently punished for free bleeding all over their cells and/or prison issued uniform?

“Which can result in a loss of privileges like...being able to buy menstrual products.”

Misbehaving and you can’t buy menstral products. WTF

When I worked in the criminal-legal system, the DOC guards I spoke to ALWAYS said they preferred working with men over women, and the most common reason was because female inmates/detainees were “so manipulative” and would just “talk and argue all the time.” It didn’t take me long to realize what the guards meant was

Colon got a disciplinary ticket for “reckless eye-balling.” She had made a face when a corrections officer gave her an order. She says she ended up in solitary confinement as a result.

I’m always amazed by the type of person who just can’t wait to get the the comment section of these types of articles so they can detail just how stupid the victim is, hand-wave the predatory nature of the lender/bank/dealership and gush about how they would never have fallen for a scheme like that. I can never tell

Tell me about it. I spent a long time just getting by in lower-end IT jobs, and it seemed like every time I got out of a hole there was another one just ahead. It wasn’t as bad as the people in this article, but I did make some bad decisions, luckily though I never got sucked into payday or other predatory loans. The

More financial education in schools would go a long way. Just teaching students what rates they should be able to source for different things (i.e. you should get prime rate plus X.XX% for a car, mortgage, etc. If you get more than that, it’s a bad deal!) or how much percent of their income they should pay on rent,

You’re a bad person.

“This person wasn’t financially literate, therefore the predatory lenders are good.”

Capitalism is amoral.
