I’ve worked (and still do) in state and federal government. We have access to any interpreter of a common language: ASL, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, Urdu, etc. Once I even got a Vietnamese translator! For the lesser common languages, sure, it’s tough.
Yeah, not to get all litigious, but this feels like a situation in which a lawsuit or two could do a lot of good. Deaf/HOH people shouldn’t have to put up with delayed, confusing, or incorrect information wasting their time in a potentially life-threatening situation.
