Shenmue was one of only 6 games to sell more than a million copies - this on a console that only sold 10.6 million - thats 1 in 10 users owning a copy! That is a better pick up rate than MGS2 which had 1 copy for every 22 PS2’s - it wasnt Shenmue that killed Sega, due to bad choices dating well back to the genesis era

They are not claiming to be able to make the game for $2mil though - its subtle and I think if more people new about it we’d be pushing $4mil now - but clearly the higher the amount made the better it an be - the video itself suggests 3 towns, yet only one is mentioned so far on the stretch goals -

Have you seen the price of the games now? They shot up overnight! I think the last I checked - you were looking at $145 for 1 and 2 spread over both DC and Xbox or $250 for both on DC - here in the UK, £105 ($166) for both on DC and Xbox or £250 ($395) for both DC -

Clearly they didnt, otherwise they wouldnt have sat so long doing naff all with Shenmue III - if rumours and speculation are to be believed Sega have not only been sat on gigbites worth of assets for the future Shenmue series but ports of 1 and 2 for a while -there has got to be someone at Sega at the moment thinking

It may be time to move on, Beyond Good & Evil fans.

I just kinda grew more accustomed to the Tales games, though my interest in them has seriously dropped as well

Haha cool - I havent seen or played the FFXV demo - wow my Final Fantasy interest has seriously dropped. Damn you FFXIII!!

Cant comment - Havent touched Type-0 in fact I havent really touched Final Fantasy since XIII.

so it means 15 is the first one since 10 not to use ATB not 3 as first thought...

the battle system itself was called CTB or Conditional Turn-based battle - I couldnt tell you how it worked as I have not played a great deal of X to be honest - however fromt what I remember it wasnt a case of 1 - 3s turn based and certain attacks could drop you or push you further up the queue - regardless ATB was

10 Didnt use ATB

Sega has the rights to both 1 + 2.

yes people seem to forget that the number quoted for the development of Shenmue was the cost of Shenmue Saturn, Shenmue I and Shenmue II - it was also ground breaking and a lot of tech had to be developed from scratch - if rumours are to be believed the cost also covered future installments too and Sega are currently

to be fair though - there just wasn’t enough Dreamcasts for Shenmue I to have great sales and Shenmue 2 was pulled from under fans to become an Xbox exclusive - by which time a lot of people had moved to Sony from Sega... lets not forget that Shenmue sold 1.2 Million copies, compared to 10.6 Million Dreamcasts...

Same as me really, Ive been microsoft first for the last three generations, with me picking up a Playstation towards the end of the life cycle... not now though... Sont come out and make me drop my defences with The Last Guardian, then hit me hard with FFVII, and finally finished me completely with Shenmue - <insert

I got rather excited about Horizon Zero Dawn myself

So you made a mistake about the mistake - nice, but Last Guardian, Final Fantasy Remake and Shenmue 3 appearing in one press event will do that to you.... What an effing show

Yeah but Shenmue hit a Mil sometime ago - its just reached 2 at 8 Hours...

For all those who love Vegetas character development through DBZ - GT handles his further development even further... from his integration into earth life, ghis final acceptance that Goku is better than him and finally his natural step into becoming earth next protector - it was handled beautifully. some other stuff
