Perfect. Julia Sugarbaker is the absolute best.

I know that speech by heart, down to the cadences Dixie Carter performed into it. I loved Designing Women.

Pluto, you were always a planet to me.

Latest consensus seems to agree that brontosaurus is a distinct species separate from apatosaurus.

Considering that the article states that much of what they know about Pluto is due to the New Horizons spacecraft, which the Applied Physics Lab built and continues to monitor, and the lab serves as one of the research organizations for NASA and builds a good deal of the spacecrafts that they use to study the solar

Yes, I do.

“You heard about Pluto? That’s messed up.”

You use science for evil instead of good, you get hate mail from children.

.

They should have just grandfathered it in, and said ok anything after Pluto is a dwarf.

One of my favorite running jokes on Psych was Gus using “you heard about Pluto?” as a pick-up line. It was an absolutely perfect gag for a guy who doesn’t realize just how nerdy he is, which is why he doesn’t see anything weird about reading The Big Book of Area Codes for fun.

Deservedly.

Why not?  I would be okay with adding more planets.

One of my friend’s had a professor that was one of the guys key to declassifying Pluto as a planet (can’t remember the name). Anyway, she said he would talk about how he got hate mail from 2nd graders after the declassification happened.

I work for the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab, which builds a lot of the satellites NASA launches, including the New Horizons spacecraft mentioned in the article, and I can confirm that everyone at that institution firmly believes that Pluto is a planet.

I’m old, and Pluto is the 9th planet.

Still think it should be classified and a planet emeritus.  The asteroid Ceres might also qualify, from what I understand.
