Oh, God, I hate the rapid press (in non-emergency situations). I can’t FLY to the front door, hold your horses. (Wait, when did I become Gmpa Simpson??)

Me getting up to go answer the door right now is not at all the same. It was 3am and they were almost certainly in bed. I’d give them at least 3-5 minutes to wake up, process what’s happening, maybe check the security camera, get ready, and then go answer the door. As for how many times she rang the doorbell, it

But, didn’t someone eventually answer the door? Didn’t someone help her? There is a big piece missing from the story - how she got from the doors of the people too slow to help her, to “safe with family.”

But they did answer the door. She was gone by that time.

The U.S. is a very large, diverse country; it is approximately the size of all of Europe. To think that you can apply this one incident to anything about the entire country is nuts.

I mean, it was 3AM. Even if people answer the door it’s going to take them longer to get there which was the situation with several people in this scenario. By the time they had woken up, realized why they were awake, and gotten into a state to answer the door she had moved on.

As others have pointed out many people did answer the door. She had left before they got there. It was 3:00 am and people were sleeping so response time wasn’t exactly immediate. Just because she had moved on by the time they got to the door doesn't mean it wasn't possible to get help.

I watched the video and was really freaked out, it just seemed so creepy and I was sure she was never to be found or seen again, this is really good news, but sad news of the suicide. I hope shes ok.

The video evidence of her running and ringing doorbells was recorded on Friday 8/24.

And nobody else will have to fear him, either.

Sadder? This is a significantly better turnout than I was expecting. She's safe and an abuser is dead.

Also, do side note that if your are a wife beating dick who keeps your partner in shackles, maybe just go ahead and end it.  Just don’t take anyone else with you.

Got away with what? Her life?

Good, the trash took itself out.

The online article for the NBC affiliate here in Oklahoma has a footnote with a suicide prevention hotline...no contact information for victims of domestic violence...?

Oh thank god she’s alive.

I'm guessing to show there was a prior relationship rather than a unknown kidnapper. Either way the ass hat is dead.

At the early time, it does take a bit to get up and get to the door. I’m glad she made it to safety.

Oh, my.

Honestly, I thought it was going to end much sadder than this. Glad her family can hug her tonight.
